Producer, engineer, mixer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, 35 years in the business and millions sold. Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Melvins, The Presidents of the United States of America, Dover (ES), Genitalica (MX), Evermore (AU), Pussy Galore, Jawbox, and 100's more!
Music has been my passion since my first band at 15. I play drums, guitar, bass, keys and sing and I'm also really good at coming up with harmonies and hooks. I love to mix and believe mixing is an art that can take many years to master. I've been recording and making music for over 35 years and the songs and records I've worked on have sold many millions. I can take your tracks and make them radio ready and sounding the way you envision! As a Producer, I will work with your band or your songs and help you realize your vision and make a recording that you can be proud of. I can help you realize your song to it's fullest, write and arrange musical parts, and help with vocal melodies/harmonies that will make your music pop!

This was my second project with Barrett. I'm finding that I'm going to Barrett when I have a song that I'm not quite happy with yet but I know has some promise and I want to make an investment in it. Not only is a Barrett a great producer with a killer ear but his drumming ability is outstanding and the recording quality of the drums is outstanding as well. He's pushed me to improve and deliver a quality performance.
Looking forward to future projects.
Barrett was absolutely brilliant. Not only is he a master of his craft, but he is also a fantastic musician. His instrumental contributions were spot on and spanned the gamut of drums, bass, keyboards, guitar, and slide. Equally as important, collaborating with Barrett was a ton of fun. I felt like I was working alongside a teammate that shared my vision. All of these qualities make him an ideal producer to work with, and I look forward to working with him again in the future.
Barrett yet again put some soul and great Rhythm into my song. He was helpful and patient. Love the job he did.
Barrett's final mix-master of Ch33Ry0's song GDF turned out really GREAT! He went above and beyond. I mean he really did and we are happy to have had a Multi-Platinum Producer like Barrett Jones working on the record. Barrett is a master at his craft. My experience, his professionalism, and quality was 100. His communication was clear, he was very patient, addressed all my notes, educated me along the way, and set expectations. Thank you Barrett Jones for an exceptional mixed and mastered track.

From beginning to end, Barrett was great to work with! He took my project (3 song ep) to the next level and made the experience 100% positive. I really appreciated the professionalism and flexibility in scheduling sessions and making it exciting and positive! Thanks much and look forward to working again in the future.
Barrett is a total pro. He did great work and helped fully realize my vision. I had him mix and master 5 tracks which he took to other levels. He also jumped on drums, bass and guitar on a track...plus drums on another. He did such great work. He gave me recording advice that I will carry forward with me. I will use Barrett again...you should not hesitate to work with him!
Barrett is a true professional. He not only was able to help with the production, mixing, mastering of my song but laid down a killer drum and bass track down as well. He worked back and fourth with me until we had all the parts completely dialed in. I would highly recommend Barrett and look forward to working with him again.

I definitely recommend working with him, and I'm sure we're going to do another rocking project in the future.
An honor and pleasure to work with this legend. Mind-blown with his job on my track.

Interview with Barrett Jones
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! I love analog and it sounds better, but once it's in the computer it stays there.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use the "hi pass" filter! with the exception of bass, kick drum and maybe some keyboard sounds, there is no need for any frequencies below 200hz, and will just "muddy" up a mix.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing in bands when I was 15, and soon after started to record myself with cassette players. I bought a 4 track Tascam tape machine in 1985 and officially opened my studio. I continue to play in bands and have been recording and producing music for 35 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like to capture the energy and essence of a band playing live, and will work to make the best recording possible within the talents of the musicians. I'm laid back and easy to get along with in the studio.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Punk, indie, rock, bands, music...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skills are coming up with hooks, harmonies, and "ear candy" for songs. I also have very good strength in helping a band solidify their individual parts of a song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A strong understanding of what works and what doesn't. I have always been able help make any song better then it was.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I've owned and operated Laundry Room Studio since 1985. It started out as a 4 track 1/4" reel to reel studio and progressed over the years to 2" 24 track and then Protools. I'm now in my 10th location in a house in Seattle. laundryroomstudio.com

A: Drummers: John Bonham, Stewart Copland, Dave Grohl. Guitars: Andy Gill, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page. Keys: Benmont Tench. Bass: Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones, Grahm Maybe. Producers: George Martin, Steve Lillywhite, Gill Norton.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production, engineering, mixing, arranging, and musical collaboration.
