Interview with Dante Rose

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Logic Pro, MacBook Pro, KRK headphones... thats all I need!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 20+ years! Also did graphic design before being a full time music artist/producer. Still do the artwork for my own releases!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Eclectic, energetic, unique & boundary pushing.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Skrillex because he's an absolute genius! Vocalist wise I would love to work with Pink Panteress on some Drum & Bass and also Flowdan on some heavy bass stuff.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't get lost in the sauce! Take a step back regularly and if you can, leave a couple of days between listening and working on projects. And dont Over-listen to your production or you'll start to lose confidence in it!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Drum & Bass, House, Dubstep, UK Drill, Trap and some Lofi!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understanding the artist vision, communication, and an ear for great melody.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to do as much justice to a vocal as I can. I want to make space the vocal while also complimenting it with highly professional, exciting production elements.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I have a strong sense for infectious melodies which I believe is one of the most important elements in the production of a track. I love to meticulously edit vocals, manually adjusting syllable by syllable if need be!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I like to have a simple set up so that whenever I'm on the road there isn't a huge difference in the setup. Logic Pro is the heart of my setup and I have great monitors and headphones that I trust and switch between them. I also reference the mix on AirPod Pros and even iPhone speakers.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Inspired by the big pioneers such as Skrillex, Diplo, DJ Snake and anyone who bends the rules, blurs the lines between genres and raises the bar constantly.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I bring a unique production sound to clients original tracks and for remixes. I also make unique hip hop beats or "type beats" for clients in Hip Hop genres, but specialize in Drill and trap beats.
