Your music, the way you imagined it. Taught 35,000+ EDM producers, 12+ years of experience.

EDM producer, mixing, and mastering engineer. Worked with artists on labels like Anjunabeats, Nora en Pure, XFer Records, and more.

My goal and passion is to see others succeed. Over the years I've helped 35,000+ EDM producers make music they love and learn how to mix and master it to professional and commercial standards. I'm always happy to give feedback on tracks for free and try to be generous with sharing my knowledge and experience with others.

So if you want feedback on your mix, production, or arrangement, send me a message and I'll be more than happy to take a listen.

I live in Canada where it's freezing for a good part of the year. So what better way to spend the cold winter months than in the studio? I've been mixing and mastering for years and luckily my ears still work just as well as they used to :D.

I would love to be a part of your musical journey. Your success is mine so let's work together!

At SoundBetter I offer:
- Professional Stereo Mastering at $70 (Includes Streaming Version MP3)
- Mixing (incl. professional stereo mastering) at $400

Interview with Fuad Murad

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: It doesn't matter. The end listener will never know the difference and they don't care. That being said I am a fan of digital because you can save presets, save your work, save physical space, and have everything ready and accessible at the click of a mouse. Also, no wires.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Ask questions and know what you want. Have a reference track or tracks ready to provide as examples for the style and sound you're going. This will save you and the person you're hiring a lot of time and effort.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I've been doing this for over 12 years. I started by going on forums and asking questions as I was learning myself. Eventually, people started asking me questions, and that turned into my first course. From there I made more courses and offered my services. To date, I've had over 35,000 producers take my courses and hire me for mixing, mastering and production projects.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: Melodic, uplifting, inspirational.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: Deadmau5. He's the reason I got into electronic music in the first place and was a great inspiration for me.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: Use a reference track. Seriously, it's a life-changing approach, especially if you're a beginner. Use it for arrangement, mixing or mastering and as a guide to finish your own track.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Mostly EDM, trance, house and sometimes pop.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: Listening. It's all about the artist and what they want. Sometimes they have specific requirements because they're sending music to a DJ or record label, in which case, again listening is the most important skill. I know I have the technical skills to make any song sound amazing, but I think it's my understanding of the artist that gives me the edge.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: It depends on what the artists want me to do and how much they want me to contribute creatively or artistically to the music. If I'm asked to mix and master something, I will make sure I know exactly the sound, tonality, and loudness the artist wants. Sometimes I'm asked or told to get creative, so I'll my own flare. I'll add things like my own reverbs, delays, automation and even sometimes my own drops and buildup sections. But regardless of the job, I always make sure I bring my A game.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: It all starts with understanding what the artist wants. That's all that matters. So it starts with some simple questions to help me understand the sound they're going for, the artists they might want to sound like, and the songs that inspire them. This gives me a deep understanding of their goals and sets the roadmap for me to follow when producing or mixing, and mastering/

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: It's a small studio with everything I need. i like to keep things simple. So a pair of KRKs, Senheisser HD650 headphones, Audient iD24 audio interface, and all the best plugins in the world to get any sound an artist might be looking for.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: Deadmau5, Adam K, Pensado,

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: I do professional mixing and mastering for EDM producers. They send me their stems or Ableton Live projects and I send them back their
