Rolling Stone recently selected an Alice Wallace song we produced in their list of “Top10 Americana and Country Songs to Hear Now”. Los Angeles area producer and mix engineer with his own studio. Specializing in Americana, Country, Singer/Songwriters, Rock, Folk.
I'm a great choice for a band or singer/songwriter on a limited budget that still wants that professional sound. I can help you with song arranging, producing your track, and I have access to great players if you want strings, horns, drums, pedal steel, etc.. We can work at my studio where I have a great lineup of high end studio gear, or the studio of your choice. My studio is in a quiet part of Los Angeles and the peacefulness is very conducive to the creative process and I can work with you on a per song basis, or hourly, whichever you prefer. If I produce the recording, I include my engineering and studio as part of the deal so there's no extra cost. Get in touch with me and let's talk about your project and I'll work with you to stay within your budget. You can hear the lead off track from the new Alice Wallace album here on my profile.
I've worked with indie artists such as Alice Wallace (her new album, "Into the Blue" was released this year and has great reviews, just Google it!), Calico the Band, Not Even, Kirsten Proffit (recorded songs for TV and Film and her solo album), The Hawt Thorns (new artist with a newly completed album), Maple Mars, Remains of Giants, Slow Children, and others.
I have a great attitude and I'm patient. My goal is to make the idea of a song come alive in a way that lives up to what was imagined by the artist.

The Fitting Room is one of my favorite places to record in L.A. Steve has the ear and the gear. Recording quality is always top-notch and crystal clear and I get just the vibe I’m after. Steve really knows his stuff and is always fun to work with. The sessions are always comfortable and he’s got the perfect balance between letting you do your thing, and offering suggestions to improve the quality/take of your recordings. You’ll walk away with a recording that sounds like it should be on the radio but feel like you were just hanging out with a friend. Steve is the best!
Recording with Steve was well worth traveling to the West Coast. He is easy to work with and has the ability to make helpful suggestions without asserting himself obtrusively. I credit him with coaxing from me the best vocal recordings of my life. The overall sound of our record was exactly what we were looking for.
Recording with Steve at Fitting Room has always been a fantastic experience. Especially as a vocalist, I feel like he has the gear and the expertise to make my voice sound better than it ever has in the studio. He has great production ideas and I can’t recommend him highly enough!
Steve has great ideas and great ears. Very easy to work with, the studio has wonderful gear . There is a comfortable atmosphere that makes it is very easy to keep the creativity flowing.
