Our recording studio in Augsburg (Germany) was founded in 2007 and has a large selection of vintage synthesizers and rare gear from the 70s and 80s.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Mostly artists from my music label "Young and Cold Records" In the summer i do manny Jobs in the Film Industry.

Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being together with artist and using the gear. Have a great time. Now and then I love to wrap cables as meditation :D.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Sometimes clients except too much after mixing and mastering. A great song starts at the writing and recording process and should be authentic. I m able to tell a client to work more on a song before i can do my craft.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It began in school by being in many music groups. Afterwards I started in an audio electronic company making audio solutions for schools and public buildings. For over 15 years, I am now working in the film industry as a boom operator and production sound mixer running my own studio and music label now over 15 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I like to discover and experiment with analog gear, make fast decisions, and find the right sound. Turning knobs and working in a studio which is inspiring me and the artist. For Music i love dark 80s music and electronic music from the beginnings in the 50s to now.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: i work already with so manny great artist and love it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Know your tools and make decisions. Love what you are doing.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: All kinds of independent and dark music subgenres like Wave, Darkwave, Post-Punk, Techno, Minimalwave, Synthwave, Experimental, Ambient, EBM, NDW, Synthpop, and Independent Music.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: All is based around an analog mixing desk in a acoustically treated room. All of the synths and gear is ready to be creative on the patchbay for creating a sound on all analog gear. After recording, we use both digital and analog tools to create a deep and rich sound. For our clients and me its important to feel inspired in the room and cozy.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Of course music from the 80s and the more the melancholic / darker music like Wave, Goth, EBM, Synthpop, Techno, and Industrial but also some new challenges.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I mixed and produced "Adam Usi", a friend of mine. We worked long hours and brought his vision of sound to Vinyl. I loved being involved in the hole process from becoming friends while starting to make music together to holding the finished album in our hands.

A: Both! Analog: to provide and create a more alive sound and working hands on Digital: fast recall and the many options

A: Working together with some one who knows and loves the same music as the artist.

A: Do you need a special format for mixing? A: Yes, all individual tracks in best quality (44.1khz / 24bit).

A: My experience of being involved in this scene of Wave music over many years and knowledge what make this romantic, melancholic, experimental music alive. Understanding and boosting the emotions an artist want to express.

A: Getting in touch with the artist and talk about the music from music lover to music lover to find out what is needed.
