Recorded our 'Regenerate' album at Innersound Audio and just finished recording our upcoming release. These guys have delivered 110% during every project and now, with the new facilities available, you really need to get booked in!
We had an amazing experience at In resound with Joe and Sam. They knew what they were doing and knocked it out of the park. Our best sounding album but also the easiest and most fun we have had receding. Highly recommended and we will be back at Innersound to do the next VEGA album.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: A good one would be The Black by Asking Alexandria! Simply because it was just such a big production album with many people involved, done over a long period of time! Plus one of the songs got Annie Mac's Radio One's song of the week in the UK!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: The new InVisions album!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The absolute high I get from wrapping up a LONG project and I can jam it amongst other albums! I'm also weirdly into seemingly dull tasks such as drum editing! I guess because it's purely up to me and I can just get in my zone and get it done!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How's it sounding, man?
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Whats the dream for the song? The vision? It's also important to know if they are trying to find new fans or please their current ones!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I and my brother have different skills that make us such a great team! I specialise in mixing and mastering. Getting a huge, modern & professional sound. Sam is the master of post-production and editing!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Quite simply, emotion! A song is just as much about the delivery as it is the song! The audience wants an experience! And we can turn a recording into exactly that!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Find the clients visions and reverse engineer it so we can crate this visison exactly how the client imagined if not better!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Huge, brand new modern yet cosy facility in York. Purpose designed and built from the ground up! we focus on a smaller yet powerful set up with great vibes and modern/powerful mixes!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Full production editing, mixing and mastering.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Huge, Modern, Professional.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet! I new to this! but I like it!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I wish we lived in a dream world where I was charging 20/30k an album to justify me kitting myself up with a tonne of outboard gear. But the reality is that my business is tailored to my customers and allowing them to have astonishing sounding music at an affordable price. If my overheads are low, my prices can be low. So I developed a way to give larger than life results with minimal gear.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We care about your music. We are certainly not the cheapest... But we do everything in our power to give you the production that you deserve.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I get to sit down and listen to music all day.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The bitter taste of a poor production remains long after the sweet smell of a cheap price has drifted away.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Computer, interface, sm7b, xlr cable and monitors.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Around 17 years old, my band were recording and it sounded awful. I was amazed by how some of my favourite bands sounded and became fascinated by learning how to replicate the pro sounding albums! 10 years down the line, I've had the pleasure of working with some of my idols and helping them do the exact same thing :P
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Metallica. Whilst I was growing up, I didn't even know there were other bands.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Just because you know how to use a tonne of fancy processing tips doesn't mean you have to use them. I limit myself to the basics when mixing unless I NEED to use something quirky. It really clarifies my process and helps me focus on the song rather than feeding my own ego of what I can technically do.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly heavy/modern metal! We grew up in a fairly successful band touring with other big metal bands so our connections and knowledge grew in that area!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Classic producers such as Chris Lord Alge for their amazing ear but then modern producers such as Joey Sturgis for their attention to detail!
