Underwolfe on SoundBetter

I Am Underwolfe! Singer / Writer / Instrumentalist / Producer / Mixer I am currently working with a handful of artists to help them bring their visions to life. for more information visit www.c-wolfe.com or my instagram @underwolfemusic

Greetings I am Underwolfe

A little about me, I have been doing this with every ounce of my Heart and Soul since I was knee high to a grasshopper...

As creators we all must strive to find our place, and learn through trial and error how best to express ourselves, it is after all the journey that truly matters, and with every step along the road to our dreams we learn those vital pieces of wisdom which help to propel us forwards towards our destination. But one thing I know from my personal experience as an Artist is that along the way, we all need a helping hand from time to time, and somebody with more experience and with perspective where we may just be too close to our music and unable to make rational decisions and thus we spend time going round in circles which can be frustrating.

My aim as a producer and co-writer is to help others to bring the vision they see and hear in their heads to life, and to help to manifest it in the real world.

I love to work with all styles of music and firmly believe that any producer worth their salt is not restricted to any specific genre, I am always up for a challenge no matter how left-of-field it may be.

If you would like to talk about how I can help you to achieve your vision reach out

Will has worked with me on a couple of acoustic songs. He's relaxed but professional and produces good results for a very reasonable price. He cares about what he's doing and that comes across in the finished product. He can turn his hand to different styles and is full of good ideas.

I worked with Will for a year on a collaborative hip hop album and he was by far the best producer i have ever worked with. Vocally he brought the best out of me as well as coming up with some of most well produced instrumentals I have ever had the pleasure of featuring on.

Will is a real workhorse, ploughing ahead relentlessly to deliver uncompromising quality.
Musically, he has real understanding of a huge spectrum of genres and he's able to infuse that into his compositions very skilfully and authentically.
He always makes sure all parts of a song get exactly the right dosage of whatever is prescribed for a vibrant and true expression of the message.
He does all of that with real down to Earth warmth and I'm very grateful and seriously fortunate to have him producing my album.
I respect that guy big time!

I have l finally found someone who can do justice to the music in my head!
I have been writing songs for 20 years and have been very choosy as to who would be the right person to join me on my first album project as I need my producer to fully understand and embrace the essence and message in my songs to bring them to life with their intended purpose.
Will (Underwolfe) has been able to do that with real respect and drive. As he says in his profile, it's all about the heart.

I have worked with Will in the past and I can tell you that no one works as hard as this guy. He is incredibly passionate about what he does and is as inspirational as he is skilled. I wrote all my best songs with this guy and I look forward to writing a lot more in the future. He is skilled in many areas from songwriting and production and is one of the best lyricists and singers that I have worked with. I honestly cannot recommend him highly enough.

Interview with Underwolfe

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Charles Wolfe because it is my own solo project and has taken a lot of blood sweat and tears to develope and to get to the point of releasing singles, we have two out and many more to come, I am the writer, Singer, Producer in this project, I work with a few close co-writers on some tracks and others I write myself, All of them are produced by me and I usually mix them up to a point then get some other ears on it as its a lot to do all of that yourself and best to work as a team I find at that point to get the finished sound right.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My solo stuff 'Charles Wolfe' third single 'No Looking Back' co-written by Dan Weller of 'Sikth' I am also co-writing with 'Choose Wisely' a London artist, and I am co-writing and producing Samuel Angelo's Album, he is as yet unknown but a very talented artist with a lot to say.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Lance Powell is a top fellow and amazing at what he does! he helped me get my second single 'Wake Up' sounding right.. he was patient and fantastic to work with, I would always recommend working with Lance.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: both... analog is great for some things digital for others.. best is to use both together, there is no 'better' it depends on the task at hand... but to record vocals for example, analog is a must on the way in.. for broad strokes analog is great for more fine eq detail and surgical jobs I prefer to go in the box.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will always put the utmost love care and attention into everything that I work on and treat it like I treat my own creations, with respect, with patience and will all of my focus.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: it make me whole as a person

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: can I make them something that sounds like my own tracks, I answer i will try but you never quite know where things are going to go, and you are not me and so inevitably it will sound different in the end.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Try to find somebody who suits your musical taste and style, dont just go for the cheapest option, you get what you pay for.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: guitar, laptop, mic, soundcard, speaker

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: i have been doing this since I was 16 but have always been into music since i knew anything I knew I was born to do this.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: alt-pop

  32. A: Rock and Pop

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Lyricism

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring originality and depth by not trying too hard to make it any particular way but to facilitate it blossoming naturally.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: it honesntly differs depending on the artist and the project, I try to adapt to the person I am working with as best I can and the aim is to find a comfortable place to meet in between both of our styles with a view to connect the two and create something beautiful.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I use a hybrid studio setup (digital/analog) my setup is mainly focused towards getting a great vocal sound but I also work with guitars and bass a lot, my setup doesn't at the moment have a live room with drum kit and band setup, although I have access to these facilities as and when I need them.
