I am Emilio Martins, Brazilian percussionist, drummer, composer, educator and producer. My main activities are experiments with many different percussions and create new sounds and grooves with that.
Emilio Martins is a profissional percussionist and drummer from São Paulo, Brazil.
A long time I developed research around World Music exploring different ways to think about rhythm, mixing my knowledge of Brazilian music with African grooves, Indian grooves and North american grooves.
Throughout my career, I had the opportunity to performed and recorded alongside with artists such as Luís Melodia, Fafá de Belém,Titãs, Dom Salvador, Tânia Alves, Mawaca group, Orquestra Mundana, Luiza Possi, Lecí Brandão, Daúde, Tavito, Paulo Moura, Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica, David Liebman, and many others.
Nowadays,I am producing at home studio and touring around the world with my most recent show ENTREMUNDOS, as well as delivering workshops of Brazilian Music as sponsored musician by the Brazilian percussion brand "Contemporânea" .
