A little about me: I love to mix music and I've taken countless music classes at college and performed many years live. I've sat under experienced engineers like Graham Cochran and Jordan Valeriote (Mixed the band Silverstein) mixing rock and metal songs.
I'm always working on my craft whether it's mixing for clients, asking questions from other engineers or producers and taking classes to get better at my craft.
Have a listen to my portfolio and if you like what you hear I hope you'll give me a chance to mix your next rock song and turn it into an amazing rock song!

Truly a pleasure to work with Chris. He is very concerned about the details and getting it right. He delivers the goods and we are very grateful for his awesome work.
Ocean Studios was a blast to work with. They really helped elevate our song, "These Moments" to the next level and really helped us craft and finish a song that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
Interview with Ocean Studios
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am really pumped that we got to record the drums for DAV's album War Zone that released June 5th! Also we just mixed a song for Forsaken Hero called "These Moments" and that'll release June 19th! You can check'm out on Spotify or Apple Music!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring songwriting, mixing and producing experience to a song and having done that with my own music and other clients as well. I am able to serve the song from multiple angles to deliver a killer final mix!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start off by asking the client for a rough mix of the song. I’ll ask them what is the vision for the song? Do you have a reference track I can refer to while mixing? Is there any editing needed on any tracks? Then I’ll ask them for the stems or multi-tracks. After I have all of those details I will confirm a delivery date. Then the fun begins and I’ll begin mixing their song, send it back to them for approval in an mp3 format, do any revisions if needed and then send the final mix back in .wav 24/48 format where it will be ready to be mastered.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have a treated sound room where all the mixing happens and we use high end professional gear so that we can give our clients the best sounding mixes.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Miix rock, hardrock, metal, worship songs and pop songs and will deliver radio ready mixes!!!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently I am mixing rock and metal songs at Ocean Studios and I'm recording music for my band Emerald Escape. We just released our debut song "Kill The Pain" Check us out on Spotify.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Definitely! I highly recommend Lori Peters drumming page because she's an amazing grammy drummer who's the former drummer of Skillet.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love mixing rock and metal songs and delivering radio ready final mixes to my clients.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: When will my mix be ready? Turn around times are generally 7-10 days after I’ve discussed the clients vision for the song and received all stems or multitracks. I’m willing to discuss a delivery date that works best for any of my clients as well. Please Note: I always try to fulfill a quick turnaround time. Sometimes if I get a handful of clients at one time there may be longer wait times. But I will work with you to try to deliver in a reasonable time frame!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Is your song ready to be mixed? Is there any editing needed? What is your vision for each song being mixed? Do you have any further questions I didn't answer for you in my SoundBetter interview?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It would be very helpful if you guys could organize and name your tracks before sending them to me. Having all of your multi-tracks named correctly, for example (Guitar Rhythm L, Guitar Rhyme R, Guitar Lead L, Guitar Lead. R) and so forth....do the same for all the vocals, instruments and FX’s. Having everything organized and named will speed up the process when it comes to mixing turnaround times. 🤘
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out as Fedex Driver and worked in Healthcare and during those times and while I was working there I was working on my craft in writing, mixing and producing. I've had the privilege to study under Jordan Valeriote who's mixed Silverstein, Auras and other well know bands. I've also had the honor to work with grammy drummer Lori Peters who's the former drummer of Skillet.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to all of my clients is that I will deliver a professional sound mixing and I want them to be happy with the mix before they sign off on the final mix.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy to get a professional mix.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Piano, Guitar, Universal Audio Apollo x8p, iMac and SM7.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Three Days Grace because I love how they mix their tight guitars, vocal and how catchy the songs are from start to finish. I've added that workflow to all my mixes no matter what genre I'm mixing.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be afraid to take low end out of all of your tracks because it'll help you control the low end of your mix.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Hardrock, Metal, Worship Songs and Pop Songs.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is being creative with an Artist or Bands song and bringing the best out of a song when I'm mixing!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Rock & Metal: Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin and Silverstein inspire my mixes. Worship Songs: Elevation Worship, Hillsongs and Hillsongs United inspire my mixes. Pop Songs: Michael Jackson, Adele and Prince
