I'm a professional singer, writer, and guitarist that has written songs for major artists on labels such as Warner Brothers and Big Machine, including a song recorded by Brett Young and a Canadian Country Billboard Top Ten hit with Washboard Union. I have also sang bgv's for various major label artists including Jon Pardi and Aubrie Sellers.

I have over ten years of experience writing, singing, arranging, producing, and playing guitar on hundreds of demos and professional recordings. I have written and worked with multiple major label artists and Grammy nominated songwriters over the past ten years. I have a top ten Billboard Canadian Country song with the band Washboard Union and have had a song, recorded by chart topping country artist Brett Young. My songs have been syndicated on national television on channels such as MTV and on national commercials such as "Red Lobster". In addition to my writing credits, I have also sung background vocals for many artists on major labels such as Universal and Warner Brothers including Jon Pardi, and Aubrie Sellers. I also have extensive experience playing acoustic and electric guitar for artists both in live shows and in the studio.

I can provide you with professional sounding vocals, guitar work, and production. I like to receive as much information as possible on a project before starting. I usually require clients to provide a work-tape of some kind with a vocal guide. I like to make sure that we're both on the same page before beginning the process. I have my own professionally set up studio. Project return times are reasonable but vary as I like to focus on the quality of the work.

I specialize in the genres of pop, country, rock, and singer-songwriter.

Interview with Grant Vogelfanger

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I am currently working on my first EP release as a solo artist.

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: I would advise customers to work on understanding what they really want out of a project while providing the most details possible.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I have been in the music business for close to 15 years. I joined a duo when I was around 12 years old. We performed on America's Got Talent and made it to the top 35 at that age and performed on Showtime at The Apollo on national television. After those shows, we were signed by a major management company in LA called the Collective (Linkin Park, Slash). The company gave us the opportunity to write with some of the best songwriters in LA and in Nashville and we began touring around with pop acts such as "Drake Bell" from Drake and Josh on Nickelodeon. We eventually went our separate ways, and I moved to Nashville. There I started writing for other country and pop artists, singing and playing on demos and records, and producing. Now I have begun working on my first solo project as an artist.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: I would like to work with John Mayer because he is a true musician, a unique artist, and a poignant songwriter.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I usually work on pop, singer-songwriter, and country music.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: My strongest skill is finding melodic hooks, both instrumental and vocal.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: I try to bring depth to each song that I work on. I work towards finding the highest potential for a song.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: I typically like to talk to the client first and gain all the information I can from them before starting on a project. I try to keep a constant dialogue with the client throughout the process as well.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: I most commonly provide vocals (Lead and Background), guitar work (electric and acoustic), and demo production. This includes creating a full instrumental track for a song.

  19. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  20. A: I promise to work diligently to bring you the results that you want.
