Interview with XOSMITH

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Shout to Krysta Youngs, very great to work with, her response time was unbelievable. We worked so fluidly.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Analog or digital? It doesn’t matter—what matters is the creator behind the sound. Both have their strengths; analog brings warmth and character, while digital offers precision and limitless possibilities. But at the end of the day, it’s not about the tools—it’s about how you use them. A great producer can make magic with either.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I promise to bring passion, precision, and professionalism to every project. I will treat your music as if it were my own, ensuring the highest quality in production, mixing, and mastering. My goal is to enhance your sound, elevate your vision, and deliver a track that exceeds your expectations. I am committed to open communication, collaboration, and making sure you are completely satisfied with the final result.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love the endless creativity that comes with music production. The ability to take an idea, shape it into sound, and bring it to life is truly magical. Music is more than just a craft—it’s a language, a way to communicate with the world without saying a single word. There’s nothing more satisfying than creating something from scratch, playing it back, and feeling its energy resonate. It starts in the mind, takes shape through sound, and settles deep in the soul. Music isn’t just something I make—it’s something I experience, something I live for.

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: When looking for a producer, find someone who is truly invested in your music—someone who goes beyond just doing the job and is committed to making your song the best it can be. You want a producer who not only listens to your vision but also analyzes your mix, identifies areas for improvement, and works closely with you to enhance your sound. The best producers do more than what’s expected. They catch details you might not have noticed, offer creative solutions, and help refine your track until it’s polished and professional. A great producer doesn’t just follow instructions—they collaborate, elevate, and bring the best out of your music. At the end of the day, it’s your song. Make sure you work with someone who respects your artistry while offering the expertise to take your sound to the next level.

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: Music has always been more than just sound to me—it’s storytelling, emotion, and the heartbeat of life itself. My journey into production started right after high school when I immersed myself in the world of sound design and music creation. What began as pure curiosity quickly evolved into an obsession, spending every free moment dissecting tracks, experimenting with new techniques, and refining my craft. In 2013, I connected with a like-minded producer from Canada, and we instantly clicked. We formed Vodka Productions, an ambitious duo dedicated to crafting high-energy, unforgettable tracks. That same year, we released "Vodka - Vodka Party", a track that quickly gained traction, racking up plays and fueling our momentum. The response was electrifying, and it pushed me to dive even deeper into the art of production. Over the years, I’ve clocked in well over 10,000 hours in the studio, refining my approach to beat-making, mixing, mastering, and sound design. While much of my work has been behind the scenes as a ghost producer, I’ve also released music under my own name, XOSMITH, blending my signature style into every project I touch. My passion is what drives me forward—I live and breathe music production. That’s why I’ve joined SoundBetter: to collaborate with talented artists, help shape their sound, and bring their visions to life with the highest level of quality. Whether you need a polished mix, a hard-hitting beat, or a full production from scratch, I’m here to make sure your music stands out.

  13. Q: How would you describe your style?

  14. A: My style is a fusion of high-energy, atmospheric, and emotionally immersive production, blending modern pop with electronic elements to create anthemic, dynamic, and cinematic soundscapes that pull listeners into an experience.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: I would love to work with Jon Bellion because he embodies the full creative process—producing, writing, and crafting every detail of his music from the ground up. I relate to his approach because, like him, I thrive on originality, building beats from pure ideas, and shaping them into something fresh and unique. His sound, flow, and production techniques are incredibly innovative, and I see a lot of similarities in the way we both bring energy and emotion into our music. Working with him would be an inspiring and next-level creative experience.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: I primarily work on modern pop with electronic influences, blending anthemic melodies, dynamic production, and crisp, high-energy beats. My style is versatile, allowing me to create everything from radio-ready pop hits to emotionally driven, cinematic tracks. Whether it’s a high-energy banger or a more atmospheric, vibey record, I focus on making every song sound massive, immersive, and sonically polished.

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: My strongest skill is melodic writing and songwriting—I have a natural ability to create catchy, memorable melodies, whether for vocals or instrumentals. I can take an idea and bring it to life quickly, producing a fully finished song in just one day while ensuring it feels fresh, dynamic, and polished.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: My work process is all about collaboration, creativity, and efficiency. I start by understanding the artist’s vision, whether it’s through reference tracks, a rough demo, or a simple idea. From there, I build the foundation of the track—melodies, drums, and core production elements—before refining it with layers, effects, and dynamics to bring it to life. Once the production is solid, I move into mixing and mastering, ensuring every sound is polished and balanced for a professional, industry-ready finish. Throughout the process, I stay in close communication, making adjustments as needed to ensure the final result exceeds expectations.

  23. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  24. A: My Studio Setup My studio is designed for precision, versatility, and creative efficiency, allowing me to produce, mix, and master at an industry standard. Monitoring & Headphones I rely on high-quality studio monitors for an accurate, balanced mix and use a selection of professional reference headphones to ensure my tracks translate well across all playback systems. Interface & Hardware A professional-grade audio interface provides clean signal routing, while my dual-screen monitor setup keeps workflow seamless and efficient. I also use a MIDI keyboard for composition and sound design, helping bring ideas to life in real-time. Microphones I work with industry-standard dynamic and condenser microphones, perfect for capturing clean vocals, instruments, and unique sound textures. Additionally, a portable recording system allows me to sample and create organic sounds on the go. Software & Plugins I produce in Ableton Live, using a full suite of mixing, mastering, and synthesis plugins to shape my sound. With access to high-end synths and sound design tools, I can craft everything from atmospheric textures to punchy, radio-ready productions. This setup ensures every project receives the attention to detail it deserves, delivering polished, professional-quality results.

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: I’m inspired by artists and producers who push creative boundaries and fully immerse themselves in the production process. Jon Bellion is a huge influence because he not only writes and produces but also brings a unique energy to every track. I admire producers like Pharrell Williams and Timbaland, who have a signature sound yet remain versatile across genres. Their ability to blend organic instrumentation with modern production techniques is something I strive for in my own work. I also respect the attention to sonic detail from electronic producers like Flume and ODESZA, who create immersive, atmospheric soundscapes that feel both innovative and timeless.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Trust your ears over your eyes. Too many producers get caught up in waveforms, meters, and plugins, but at the end of the day, music is meant to be felt, not just seen. If something sounds good, it is good—so rely on your instincts, reference tracks, and the emotional impact of the sound rather than just the technical visuals on your screen.

  29. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  30. A: I bring emotion, energy, and a unique sonic identity to every song. Whether it’s through catchy melodies, dynamic production, or polished mixing, I ensure that each track feels alive, engaging, and unforgettable. My goal is to elevate the artist’s vision, crafting a sound that not only stands out but also connects with listeners on a deeper level.

  31. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  32. A: The most common work I do for clients is full music production, mixing, and mastering. I take raw ideas—whether it’s a rough demo, a vocal recording, or just a concept—and turn them into polished, radio-ready tracks. This includes creating original instrumentals, refining melodies, adding dynamic layers, and ensuring the final mix is crisp, balanced, and professional. I also help artists develop their sound, offering creative input and production techniques that elevate their music to its full potential. Whether it’s a pop anthem, an electronic banger, or an emotional ballad, my goal is to bring each artist’s vision to life with high-quality, industry-standard production.

  33. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  34. A: Shout to Krysta Youngs, very great to work with, her response time was unbelievable. we worked so fluidly. I needed her to do vocals for my song, I had a precise piano melody for her that I want her to follow by and she nailed it!

  35. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  36. A: Analog Analog Analog! Its Sound waves are very smooth and continuous. I love a vintage sound to a mix.

  37. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  38. A: Since I'm in the studio constantly every single day. I promise a quick turn around and Top Line finished product. I'm fast, easy going. I will give as many revisions as needed, anything to make the clients happy. I will take every mix and treat it as my own! If it takes me all night to get it the best, then that's what I will have to do to satisfy. I've been told I have an orchestra built into my brain, and I can produce recreate anything! and that, I will do!

  39. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  40. A: I love creating, creating, creating. The idea of creating your own sound and able to play it back and listen to the art of your own mind is magical. I feel like I'm communicating with the world. The sound I share with the world and the sound the world shares back with me is extremely satisfying to hear and experience! Music creation comes from the mind, then you feel it in your soul.

  41. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  42. A: Look for someone that will take the time to look into your mix and help you develop a better sound and work closely with you. LOOK FOR SOMEONE WHOS WILLING TO DO MORE THAN YOU ASK. So you might have not noticed a problem in the mix. It is nice to have a Producer who will point that out for you, discuss with you and fix it for you. You are the customer!

  43. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  44. A: I've been focused on music production for 7 years right after high school (class of 2012). since then I've focused and progressed with time. In 2013, I met a friend in Canada, who also had a passion for music production. we instantly linked up and formed a group called Vodka Productions. That year we released a song called, Vodka - Vodka Party... The song blew up! https://open.spotify.com/album/4bqKIKRb9vSHnbUKenE5jd HERES WAS THE PROBLEM THO! I'm 25 years of age now and I grew up in a Russian Orthodox Community since I was little. Our religion is based on the old prophesies that go way back 500yrs and is still practiced in today's day. According to our biblical commandments, we as "Russian Old Believers" are condemned to any sort of outside music from the church. So, the community and our church caught on and threatened to abolish us from our church if we kept practicing with outside music. We had to stop... The song, "Vodka - Vodka Party became a one-hit wonder. Years past, but no one stopped me from practicing my passion for music production. I kept on going but practiced silently. No one new, not my mother, not my relatives, and neither my community. I felt as if I was living under a rock. I had so much potential, passion and drive to go forward with my TALENT, but I didn't have the heart to break down the people who were so close to me, my mother. I moved out of my Mothers house as soon as I graduated from high school and went to work in Canada. Few years go by and I became much better with my production process. I felt as if I'm already part of this industry, I knew how to mix and master efficiently. I had all the songs to show the world but I didn't want to expose myself, it was still tuff. so I decided to work smarter. I created this name in disguise, "X O S M I T H". I am XOSMITH, a Producer, Song Writer, Sound Designer, Mix/Master Engineer. I never felt to crave for fame as an artist. I just wanted to keep on keeping on. I'm starting to share a lot more of my work online today. I have a few songs released under the name of XOSMITH. I want to continue with mixing and producing for another artist. I'd rather help inspired musicians succeed than to show off my skills as an Artist. That's why I've decided to go with Soundbetter! I wanna be able to keep focusing on what I do best and yet still able to get by financially. To become a PREMIUM Provider will mean the whole world to me! I'm one loyal ass worker and I know I can make a great difference in this community! Help me be a part of this team, please and thank you!
