Mpho Pholo best known to many in the industry as 37mph is an award-winning and highly skilled music composer, producer, music director and performer from South Africa. Undoubtedly one of the most accomplished and talented producer and musicians of our time, 37mph has been a returning music producer and director on Africa’s biggest music show: Coke Studio Africa, The Voice Afrique Francophone, The Bantu Hour and The Voice (Nigeria), among other top productions. He has also produced a number of renowned artists. Under Thatch Music, he has collaborated with celebrated acts including Flavour (Nigeria), Shatta Wale (Ghana) and Salif Keita (Mali). He has also composed themes songs for television and films such as “Blitz Patrollie”

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop and Afrobeat
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creative composition.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run mostly on MacBook pro, via UAD Apollo Twin for playback. I currently use Genelec 6010 and Yamaha NS-10 monitors. I have an auxiliary MacPro running via RME Fireface 802 routed to the UAD via ADAT. I have an MPC2500, Korg R3 and other hardware connected to the RME. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Kanye West and Dr. Dre 's music inspires me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Producing and developing a new sound for established artists and new comers.
