It was my first time working with Samie and his talent and delivery blew me away! I really like how he gave my track a Tory Lanez type feel, and at times I thought he sounded just like him. I will definitely work with Samie again. He is trustworthy and his communication is excellent. He treated my project like it was his own.

Interview with Samie Bower
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My album I released in 2017 "If You Insist." That was the first time I put all I got into a project. Self-Published and all. Music videos. Promotions. The whole nine. Due to that, that's how I got the recognition I have now and connected with the people I work with.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My sophomore album for BDRM Records.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mickey Shiloh. My boss, the CEO of the label I'm on (BDRM Records), because honestly. She's Incredible.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Can't be stuck on one, have to adapt to everything.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To provide the best service regardless of what they are looking for. To know that whatever is given to me to work on that, I treat it as if it's my own record.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating. This is my world. This is my everything.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Mainly I get asked how am I able to do all these things (comping, singing, recording, writing, mixing). And the simple answer is "It's all I know, and I love it."
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I was only able to create one sound; the moment I released an album, all those opinions changed.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just know you're in good hands and that quality is always more important than quantity.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My microphone, an interface, a generator, speakers, and a flare gun.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Have been making music for over 10 years now; Graduated Montclair State University with a BFA in Graphic Design. Went to learn about how to create visuals towards my music while having a number of classes in Marketing on how to market everything.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Versatile
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: T-Pain, without a doubt. Have looked up to his creative ways for years, out of alot of creatives in this world. He's one of the few, that sonically, he gets it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be afraid to go back and completely change something in a song, if you feel it's needed, do it!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mainly new age R&B and Pop music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Both melodies and top-lining for sure, but songwriting is also just as perfect.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A unique flavor, something that's clean and smooth, but still a bit captivating for any listener.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: If for singing/songwriting: I begin to make melodies, sing whatever comes to mind a few times, then go back and see what parts were the best and go from there. // As for vocal tuning/comping: I listen to the vocal a number of times until I start pin-pointing what should be touched on, manipulated, and cleaned up; and go from there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work on both Pro Tools 12 and Logic Pro X, on Mac. There's 3 Studios in Jersey I work from, and 2 Studios in California I work from, along with my mobile studio that includes a Sputnik Valve Microphone, a Focusrite Scarlett interface, with a Blue Pop filter, paired with M-Audio Speakers.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Inspiration range from The Weeknd, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Bryson Tiller, Tory Lanez, Post Malone to Michael Jackson, All Time Low, Eminem, T-Pain, and alot more.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mainly Pop, anything R&B related, Hiphop, Trap/Rap, and alot of Dance music.
