Over 4 Billions Streams!!! For 10+ years, I've worked with multi-platinum (and some diamond!) major label artists, as well as up and coming independent artists. Worked on a few #1's and several grammy nominated projects. I approach it all with the same level of integrity and care.
I love to help people put their best foot forward with their product. This means following the song as a guide and using my knowledge and experience to execute the artist/producer's original vision, achieving sonic balance, clarity and dynamics.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

I HAD AN AMAZING TIME WORKING WITH ZACH! He gives his time, attention, and patience to the whole project and has constant communication along the whole way! The song turned out amazing and now has that radio-ready sound plus more that I have been looking for! If you want someone to take your song to the next level Zach is the go-to! Sure there are other great engineers out there but in the end you will be asking yourself "why did I not go to Zach?" because you could have gotten so much more!

If you are looking for someone to make your track sound awesome on every possible sound system and really give you that radio-ready sound, Zach should be your go-to.
Interview with Zach Steele
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more. Give every instrument (including vocals) time and space to shine.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was recently nominated for a Grammy for recording vocals on Lil Nas X's Album, Montero. I was also blessed to work with DaBaby on his hit single "Suge", and Travis Scott on the entire Astroworld project. I love working on highly acclaimed and anticipated projects but I take up-and-coming artists just as seriously. Art is art!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm mixing/mastering songs for people all over the world. Recently I've worked on records for people all over the US, Mexico, Canada, Africa, Sweden, Germany, France, UK, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. Very Exciting!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you get a professional quality mix working in the box? The answer is yes! Some of your favorite records were mixed in the box! It's more convenient for everybody, including the customer who may be waiting on a revision.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think everything is pretty clear at this point.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have any reference songs? If we've never worked before I'd love to hear an example of what you would like your track to sound like.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Provide well-recorded and organized tracks, a rough mix, and trust that we will take your track to the finishline!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook Pro, Lynx Hilo Converters, Sony C-800 Mic, Neve 1073, Tubetech CL-1B compressor, A good pair of headphones.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been working in music professionally for 14 years.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, although I work primarily in the box.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We will bring your music to life!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Lately, its been R&B, Rap, Pop, and Reggaeton.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by organizing the files first and doing any necessary cleanup in order to optimize my work flow. While I am doing this, I listen to the rough mix attentively and discover what direction the song is headed in sonically. Then I dive in! As the mix begins to come to life, I take a short break so I can hear if anything jumps out at me when I come back. As I finish, I will test the mix on other speakers, such as my phone or in my car. Then I send the first pass of the mix to the client. Often the client will give me feedback and I will address their notes. I will continue to refine the mix until the client is happy! I don't mind making changes to the mix and often feel like I am learning new tools in the process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Macbook Pro Apollo Interface Pro Tools Waves, Plugin Alliance, Slate Digital, UAD, Fab Filter
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The list is incredibly long because I am inspired by everything but as far as mixers go, Serban Ghenea and Jaycen Joshua impress me constantly. Quincy Jones is my favorite producer ever, followed closely by Baby Face and Dr. Dre. I love the new wave of producers too, including Wheezy, Turbo, and Jetson. Favorite artists range from Michael Jackson to Metallica and from J Cole to Demi Lovato. I could talk about music all day so I'll leave it at that for now.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: 10+ years of experience, techniques, and my own personal taste.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: With online clients, it is usually mixing/mastering.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I see it as a life of service. I get to help other people live their dreams.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would say that I aim to make you feel it in your body more than hearing it with your ears.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Rihanna. Her voice is iconic.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have an uncanny ability to get on the same page as an artist. I can see their vision and understand their direction with little to no explanation, and then use my experience and taste to execute it.
