I'm Chris. Music has been my passion from a very young age. I have collaborated with a variety of bands, working as a session musician, recorded 17 full length albums and attended a number of live shows and tours. Interview with Chris Kollias
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: In general I am obsessed with signal pathing. Always trying to improve and offer top quality. I run my gear through Red Sound cables, into a Line Audio 2MP preamp & RME ADI2 conversion. I am using an RME Raydat pci-E audio interface for maximum workload and 0 latency. Using Cubase 10 as my DAW. I have a pair of KRK Rokit monitors and DT770 Pro headphones.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most of my completed jobs are metal related
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Adaptable and flexible
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to create lines that will serve the song as a whole, pushing it with energy.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: After receiving the stems or the separate tracks, I setup everything in a project and check that all is fine. If there are certain instructions or guidelines I follow them and create a rough track for the recording. After sorting everything out and having the final form of the bass track, I record it with fresh strings and final takes.
