Award winning engineer, Michael Shepherd, has become one of most respected audio engineers in Eastern Canada, and has been recognized with multiple industry nominations from Music Nova Scotia and the East Coast Music Association. With 16 years of nominations, ‘Sheppy’ has won five ECMA awards for Studio Engineer of the Year – most recently at ECMA 2016.
Working mostly from Lakewind Sound Studios, Sheppy is responsible for creating the Lakewind “sound” on many of the most popular recordings from Atlantic Canada. Over the last 20 years, he’s worked with the best the East Coast has to offer. These clients include Gordie Sampson, Natalie MacMaster, Matt Minglewood and Breagh Isabel to name a few.
An OIART graduate, (Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology), Mike “Sheppy” Shepherd is well schooled in all areas of audio disciplines, including TV and film production (Recently- Minions 2, Mr. D), and specializes in ProTools.
Sheppy’s work record is impressive, having worked with such world-renowned producers as George Massenburg, Peter Asher and Bob Ezrin, as he continues to sharpen his skills and add to his client list.
