Kelly Sayer is an incredible vocal producer. She's incredibly patient and focused. Both, her brilliant ear for melodies and harmonies, as well as her ability to tune vocals that sound natural and smooth make her one of the best vocal producers I have ever gotten a chance to work with. I could not recommend her enough!

I highly recommend Kelly for vocal production. She has amazing arrangement ideas, an incredible ear for pitch (she will tune your vocals like no one else can) and a natural talent for helping the vocal sit just right in the track. Work with her!!
This lady is incredible she is an angel who will make you sound like an angel. She is professional and reliable and works quickly at a level that pushes the boundary in this competitive market. Couldn't recommend her more highly.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Max Brandenburg: he is an amazing top-liner, songwriter, pianist and vocalist Pedro Calloni: he is the best mixing engineer that I know Dragi Ivanov: he is a brilliant pop producer Hope Brush: very talented audio and mixing engineer
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always approach every detail, even the technical ones, from a musician's perspective. The natural emotion of the song is the priority.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, RnB and Hip-Hop
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Comping and tuning vocals
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I am a trained vocalist myself, with a degree from Berklee College of Music, so I have a thorough understanding of how delicate the performance process is and how to best capture and blend the vocal to bring out the best in any performer.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I tune vocals using melodyne and I check the tuning by running them through autotune at zero retune speed after so that I can catch any errors and then correct them again in melodyne to be 100% confident about the pitch. I comp using playlists and I edit with the waveform expanded so that I don't cut any breaths etc. I work from the same vocal template that I used at Alex da Kid's recording studio.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Microphones: Manley, SM58, AKG414 Interface: Apollo Twin Monitors: I have a pair of Yamaha NS10's a pair of Adams, and a pair of HS5's so that I can reference my mix on many different speakers. I also always check my mixes in the car and on headphones. Plugins: Waves, Soundtoys, UAD, Fabfliter
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mark Ronson - My favourite producer Billie Eilish and James Blake - Both incredible artists with inspiring and innovative vocal arrangements Julia Michaels and Sasha Sloan - My favourite songwriters
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Setting up microphones, tracking vocals in pro tools, comping and tuning vocals, coming up with harmonies and arrangements, mixing the vocals to make them fit into the track so that it sounds like the track was build for them.
