AV is extremely talented and a pleasure to work with. She took the time to get to know me and my song in order to ensure the project was successful. Her input was invaluable, as she took my original version to a new level. I wouldn’t have been able to have such a great song without her. I highly recommend working with AV on your next project.
AV is not only an amazing singer but a fantastic song writer! I highly recommend hiring her and look forward to working with her more in the future!
AV is not only one of my favorite collaborators, she's one of my favorite people. Every time we've worked together she is fast, fun, reliable, and super creative. She writes and sings from a very honest and vulnerable place, and her vocals truly help sell songs when pitching to artists.
We've written songs for artists, landed international cuts together, and made songs for sync. Every time I set her up with a session, she crushes it. I highly recommend her for any project.
AV is an insanely talented writer, singer, artist and all round human!! Each project we've worked on together has been a great experience, and I would highly recommend her for whatever your project needs!

Interview with AV
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Honestly, the Taeyeon song, Better Babe. I was one of the 3 American songwriters for that and we had no expectations with it. We just got in a room, I told a story about the guy I just met and was falling in love with, and there it was. I couldn't even hit the notes in the demo but when I saw a video of Taeyeon performing it in an arena my jaw was on the floor...like I DID THAT! With some amazing people. We wrote that melody...those words...that was my heart being sung in an ARENA! It was the best feeling ever and SO humbling.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A bunch of music for film and TV...and of course KPOP.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes. Matt Hines. He is a TRUE musician and is SO creative and efficient.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital because tbh I don't know how to do anything analog.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To provide TOP quality songs, be efficient with my time, and give them a product they are not only proud of, but something they would want to listen to on repeat.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Honestly, everything. The process of creating is like a drug to me haha.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Most customers ask why I would own a % of the song when it's 'their' song. I tell them this--every contributor is part owner. If you send me a track and want me to write lyrics, melody, and sing it...that's the other half of the song. Why wouldn't I?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People think what I do is easy. Which...yes it's second nature. However, there is SO much time that goes into proper vocal comping, tuning, recording, and all of the above. Yes, I can complete something in a few hours, but not a lot of people I work with realize the brain power and focus that goes behind sitting, writing, and finishing something.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your intended use? Do you have an idea already started? Have you read my terms and conditions?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know what you're asking for and what your provider is bringing to the table. If you ask a neighbor to write a song with you and sing it, you'd throw them $50-$100 for helping...Most people on here are working professionals with a LOT of experience. When you want someone to topline, record, tune, mix, master, all in a weeks time--it's not just an hourly rate. We have spent our whole lives perfecting our craft, you get what you pay for. If you want someone to take the time to give you the BEST possible product, respect the provider and the time they are putting into it with appropriate compensation.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My guitar, a mic (and cables), my laptop, interface, and a power source haha.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Music is my life. Grant it, I have dabbled in a million other things, but I couldn't imagine doing anything other thatn writing songs.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Pop with heavy rnb influence and a little jazz.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: JKash...he's a lyrical and production GENIUS. All of my favorite songs have his name on it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: When it comes to vocal production--don't over do it. Everything you sing that's 'extra'--let it have a. purpose.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop, rnb, sync music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Songwriting, hands down.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Life. Sonic life. I worked in vocal production for a while in LA. I am all about vocal layers and ear candy. People always ask how I get my vocals to sound the way they do, and it's mainly because there are so many hidden layers in there to get a specific sound.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start with listening to the track. As I'm listening, I will lay down melody ideas (I think the best ones come out most naturally), and then I will go section by section solidifying melodies before lyrics. Once I have done melodies section by section, I will start either at the top or at the chorus to hash out my concept or idea and then once it's written I spend a ton of time recording it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a Blue Bottle mic, a Shure SM7B, I use an Apollo interface, and run everything through Logic. The entire second room in my house is a dedicated studio space with all of my instruments and equipment.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love John Bellion, JKash, Kehlani, and even Leon Bridges.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Majority of my work is writing songs and demoing for clients. People love to work with me because I am efficient, accurate, innovative, and can tune and mix my own vocals--no waiting on a middle man.
