Working with Wes was absolutely amazing! I'm always so grateful to have a client who is both immensely talented and easy to work with. His positive attitude and creativity made the job a breeze. Very highly recommended!

Interview with WEXLEY

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One of my good friends and talented singer Fitzy and I just released a song called "Feels Like Summer" and I am most proud of this project. The song was a lot of fun to make as it embodies the spirit of a summer camp that we both used to work at in Yosemite.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I am working on some pop records with some fellow Soundbetter artists that will be released shortly

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I just put out a song called "Heat It Up" with Catherine Rose Smith aka glasscat and had an absolute great time working with her. She is the songwriter/singer on the track and I was the producer/mixing and mastering engineer https://open.spotify.com/track/52ih44h2XiGVzJDJquWbgU?si=YvLVX4wdTQOx3AkuF-w1og

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: Unlimited revisions means that I really care that you are satisfied with the end result no matter what

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: What is your vision for the song? What are some similar songs that we can reference?

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: I would say my style is mainstream with a twist. My goal is to make music that is catchy enough to bring you in but also keep you engaged with something a little weird or different than other artists

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: Anderson Paak because he's such a talented artist all around. His drums skills are top notch and can sing/rap with the best of them

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: Pop, Electronic, EDM, House, Hip Hop, Trap, RnB, Indie

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: My typical work process varies every song but I typical hop on the keys or guitar to find a catchy chord progression or melody and then go from there

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I have a small studio setup that consists of my Yamaha hs10 monitors, Behringer 12inch sub, Zoom L12 Mixer/interface (12 channels), iMac with Ableton, Logic, and a long list of plugins, Alessis VI 49 key midi keyboard. Pioneer SX3 controller, G&L electric guitar, various percussion instruments

  21. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  22. A: Diplo is my biggest inspiration. As a music producer and DJ myself, I love that how Diplo makes music in many different genres and still able to top the chart and stay relevant after all these years

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: Mostly music production for singers and rappers

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: I bring that fresh new WEXLEY vibes!
