Alex was a joy to work with. She was super responsive and completed the project in a couple of days only. Her melody was very catchy and lyrics conformed well with the song provided. I'll recommend you to work with her on your next song.

Alex is very easy to work with and she is one of the most talented singers i met in my 30 year career as a music producer. The vocal and lyric quality she delivered was international chart quality.
I can highly recommend her not only as a singer but also as a lyricist and topline writer. Alex is a fantastic collaborator, a fabulous singer, and an all around great person. She and I have worked together on many projects, from songwriting together to cutting records, Alex is a professional and a highly personable individual. Working with her is simply awesome.
Interview with Alex Tamashunas
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: "With Or Without You" for Dan Berk -- to be released soon! He's the greatest friend and collaborator I've ever had. I love the song so much. He's such, such a talented guy.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A country / pop topline with Dylan Rockoff!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Everyone I've worked with on Soundbetter has been great. Dan Berk is the homie. Everyone should hire Dan.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, because I'm used to it haha.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I work until you love the product.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love my job because I love making music. I'm very lucky.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Pricing. It's standard and it's on my page :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: N/a
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Varies per person.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Talk to me! I will never take a job I don't think will be beneficial to both parties. Let's chat about it.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My mic, my Scarlett box, Protools, my guitar, and my piano.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I got into this because my dad was a piano player. Been in music since I was a kid. Moved to New York at 18 and started working professionally there. Moved to Nashville in 2018...
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Pop-country / emotional pop.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: So many to choose - but probably Maren Morris. She's a writing inspiration to me.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Before you send a song off to mixing, 75-80% of what you hear is what you'll get at the end. Make sure you like what you have before mixing.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop and country. Sometimes dance music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Adapting to different genres.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Topline and vox.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It varies per project. But typically, I'll listen to a track a few times to get a sense of the song structure first -- then, I'll record myself riffing over the track on a voice memo a few times to get my first melody ideas down. I'll listen back a few hours later to see what I like and don't like from each take. Then, I'll start refining the melody and adding lyrics at the same time. Once I get a completed voice memo of the full song, I'll do a quick rough take in the microphone to send to the client. Once the client approves of the melody / lyric, I'll take the time to make a polished vocal.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an AudioTechnica AT4047MP microphone and I work out of ProTools. I can tune my vox with Antares, but I typically give the vox to clients dry and untampered with so they can play with the tone and tune as they see fit.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Working in the Nashville music scene, I'm surrounded by people who inspire me every day. Celebrity inspirations include Maren Morris, Bon Iver, Sia...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm typically hired for complete topline services -- melody, lyrics, and professional vocals that can be mixed into the track.
