Luke Armentrout on SoundBetter

My name is Luke Armentrout and I'm a mastering engineer in Nashville working out of Georgetown Masters on Music Row! I have extensive experience working with both stereo and immersive audio formats. Feel free to reach out with any mastering needs!

I graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Music in Sound Recording Technology and Vocal Performance, studying audio production under industry greats Alex Perialas (Anthrax, Testament) and Brian Dozoretz (Tony Bennett, Interpol).

I moved to Nashville to join the Georgetown Masters Team in 2019. As a multi-instrumentalist and student of music for more than 15 years, I combine a musical ear with technical knowledge to bring out the full potential of the music I work with.

I have extensive experience working with both stereo and immersive audio formats (Dolby Atmos, 360RA). Select Atmos mastering credits include Ingrid Andress, Jimmie Allen, and Brett Eldredge.

I also specialize in noise removal and restoration techniques. Mixing and mastering can sometimes create or highlight unwanted sounds, so audio restoration tools can help create a much cleaner final product (as long as the cleanup doesn't hinder the "vibe").

If you have any budget concerns, let's discuss them! I will do my best to work with clients on any and all budgets. Feel free to send an email with any questions to luke@georgetownmasters.com.

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Interview with Luke Armentrout

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Both! There's no right answer. The treatment needed for every project will vary depending on the project. Some will sound best with analog equipment, some will sound best with digital, and some will sound best with a combination of analog and digital. My job as a mastering engineer is to make that choice to bring out the best possible sound out of my projects.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: Country / Pop-Country / Pop / Singer-Songwriter are the most common genres, but I have experience with most genres of music.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: An experienced ear, years of practice with professional audio systems, and over a decade of music study allow me to bring out the full potential of each project that I work on.

  7. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  8. A: Mastering, Sequencing, Editing, Restoration
