Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: Please fully detail your project in your initial inquiry to expedite the process and make communication more efficient. I'd love as much detail as you have available to discern whether I am right for your project or whether the project is right for me.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I pride myself on performing and recording with a whole lot of soul and personality, utilizing a wide and varied range as well as an assortment of dynamic vocal stylings enabled by focused voice and breath control.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I have a home studio and record with a Rode NT-1 using Ableton and Studio One.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: In my solo music, I refer to my sound as "Indie folk with a dose of soul," but in working with clients, I pride myself on being chameleonesque. Having a background in acting and voice-over work, I enjoy getting into the spirit of whatever style of music I'm working on, from the silky sliding vocals that may accompany an electronic track, to the earthy twang of a country or bluegrass tune, to the raw and dynamic crooning of a blues jam.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: When working on a song for a client, I tend to sit with the music alone for a prolonged period of time, play it on repeat until it's all that's in my head. During this process, I tend to let my mind wander, taking notes of lyrics that come to mind and/or recording audio of melodies as I go about my day. After I feel I have a good understanding not only of the music but also of the feel the music innately instills on its own, I tend to sit with the track in writing mode, not walking away from the song until I have draft one of the lyrics and/or melody fleshed out and recorded. Then I listen to the rough recording on repeat as before, pin pointing the places in which improvements can be made. I'll then again sit down to write, record, and repeat once more, following this pattern until I am satisfied with the content of my contribution to the song.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I work mostly in putting melodies and vocals to lyrics already written and songwriting for tracks that are seeking both vocals and lyrics.
