Hi, I am Darrell better known as BEX. I am a Audio Engineer with over 10 years experience. Trained at FullSail University and based in the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.
I am versed in many different genres thanks to my musician background.
My entire career has been shared between the studio and the live event and theater world.
I have recently decided to focus solely on my passion which is the studio. So here I am, relaunching my career as a studio engieer, mixing and mastering.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it is doesn't take long.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is it exactly you want? What is your expectation? Where do you see your project going?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ensure your personalities sync and he/she understands what you want and what you are looking for and that they won't try to push their ideas onto you.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't try to fix it in the mix. Always try to get it right from the beginning.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on hip hop, soca or world music and alot of reggae
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My ear. I spent so much time in the live world, i learnt frequencies. I can hear even the smallest nuances in a sound and enhance or remove if needed.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I a 24" imac late 2009 model, with a liquid saffire 56 pro and an octopre MKII dynamic. I have a pair of Yamaha HS8, KRK Rockit 6 and HS10. I use an Euphonix (Avid) MC Mix as my control surface. I have a DBX 1046 4 channel compressor and a Lexicon MPX1 effect unit
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love the young musicians. The passion and desire in them, reminds me of where I was and why I started

A: I do mostly mixing and mastering, for local bands.
