Treasure into trash, I did vocals on a loop and Eric Mr DuBois took my track and transformed it into art while keeping the integrity of the original version. Great pointers and advice on recording and home studio setup. Professional workflow, detailed process, and speedy service. This guy will take care of all your needs when it comes to anything audio. Highly recommend.

When you're in the studio with someone it's not just the music you make together it's the relationship you have with each other. Eric's such a great, hard working, enthusiastic guy to be around and so easy to get along with that every second of my recording process was a joy. Great producer, great musical, top guy

I had the pleasure of working with EDP on my upcoming sophomore EP. Our entire creative process was approached from a remote standpoint, where we were able to merge our long distant worlds together to create a body of work that sounds like it was created in the under the same roof. He has a great ear for obscure sounds and unique song formatting structures. He's a true architect when in comes to building and producing a beat based off of any ideas that you pitch to him. I love and admire his dedication to seeing the bigger picture outside of making music, but building a sonic art piece.

Interview with EDP-Beats | Eric Dubois

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: When I started, I created a beat for an artist I met on Craigslist for free. He came back to me a few months later saying he wanted to do a full EP with me and that he would pay!! That was amazing!

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Both... depends on what you are going for!

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I promise them what the Rolling Stones do..."Satisfaction".

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: I usually ask them what artists they like, why did they choose me and whats the deadline! Not just for me but for them! Most artist don't work with deadlines... Deadlines helps them stay focused and excited!

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: Make sure you like the producer's "style" or "sound". You will never be disappointed in his work!

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I started playing guitar in a punk rock band when I was 16. Blink 182 and New Found Glory were my favorit artists! Being part of a band for over 8 years with my best friends was an amazing experience! Learning how to write songs, lyrics and playing live was insane! I started writing beats at the same time as I grew older and got introduced to hip hop and electronic music. Learning by doing is how I work. So make mistakes, try new things, new genres... and keep learning!

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Trust your ears! If you like what you hear than why add or change it! this is how you can obtain your own sound and style.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: Hip Hop, Future Bass and Pop.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: When a client requests a custom beat, I start off by sending him two small samples within a few days (2 different beat ideas with verse and chorus). The artist chooses one he likes and we go from there! While the Artist is working on lyrics we have regular Skype or WhatsApp conversations about the beat and where do we want to take it... Once the beat is finished the artist has the choice to have me mix in his vocals or just keep the beat. Having the producer mix in the vocals is a great way to obtain a unique sound. This step usually helps the artist have an extra set of ears and opinion on the track. This is my favorit part! Helping the artist get the best out of his track!
