As a multitalented Mix Engineer, Producer and Musician, Derek's strongest points have always been great ears and superb musical instincts. He's worked on project for Century Media Records, Virgin Records, Bobaflex, Bruce Katz (Gregg Allman/ The Allman Brothers), Red Light Kings, Whitey Ford, Producer David Werner (Billy Idol), and many others.
A Music Business graduate of the Crane School of Music, Derek has been working as an audio professional since 2004. As a key team member of the then up-and-coming SubCat Music Studios, Derek achieved partner status by 2006, and played a crucial role in developing the company into a world class recording facility.
Working with Derek is an easy going and collaborative experience – a true partner in the creative process. He doesn’t over-produce, but rather he finesses a song to help achieve the full vision of the writer/performer. Somehow he brings that elusive “magic dust” that allows a song to realize it’s true vision.
