Interview with RHMEMusic
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure you spend a lot of time on sound design, sound can sound awesome isolated but it does not always work great in the full mix.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic. (different genres though like Future Bass, Dance and a lot of commercial stuff.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I've been playing and writing music for so long so I'd say I've got a great ear for details and sound design.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Life, movement, texture and fullness.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I do all my work from my Macbook (3,1 Ghz, Intel Core i7, 16 gb). I usually produce and write all my music in Ableton 10 and for longer recording sessions I use Logic. I've got a pair of Yamaha Hs 7s as monitors and for headphones I've got Focal Spirit Professional. I still use my old PreSonus Audiobox for recording, it still does the job. I've got a couple of guitars, the ones worth mentioning is my Fender American Standard Telecaster and a Martin D-28. My piano is a Casio, PX-300. Because I do all my mixing/mastering "in the box" I've made sure I use all the best plugin companies, to name a few complete bundles I use Izotope Ozone 8, Sountoys, Fab Filter. I also have tons of Waves plugins and synths like Serum, Massive, Sylenth.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I get inspired when people have a burning passion for music, i.e If they've got a goal they want to achieve, get better at like producing/writing songs, mix or master. Anything really music related, I just love to learn new stuff and increase my skills al the time.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Everything from producing, session guitarist, mix & mastering.
