CT native VNDL exploded onto the music scene with a steady stream of music in 2016. He made his first real waves with his “Drop That Low” bootleg that quickly garnered him support from the likes of Skrillex, Jack U, Party Favor, Adventure Club and many more. Since then he has been releasing official remixes as well as winning a remix competition for LUMBERJVCK. With a plethora of upcoming releases, 2018 is shaping up to be another big year, expect tons of new music from the VNDL.

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Id have to go with analog. I really feel like though the digital emulations of gear are really good, there's still something about the circuits that makes everything sound fuller and rounder.

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: I love the ability to flex my creative muscles and working with others who love to do so.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: Id love to work with Jon Bellion, I love his style the tone of his voice and his process.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Always always always roll off un needed frequencies with EQ!!

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I usually work on more EDM/Trap music/Dubstep music.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: I believe my strongest skill is writing emotional chords.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: I bring energy, depth, and some really cool ear candy to a song. I normally love to mix and master a really clear tight and crispy style.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: I usually Mix in my first pass. I really depends on the song I'm working on. Most of the time I work on getting the melodic elements to sit right then ill move on to the other parts. It really is different for each song. I try to go with what comes naturally. if there are vocals involved I almost always start there.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: I'm running Yamaha HS8's for monitors, I have a fully dedicated and treated room. I have two microphones 1 Gauge USA ECM- 87 (U87 Clone) and a MXL Mogami V69 Tube mic. I have a dedicated vocal booth. The mic runs into a Warm Audio TB12 into an 1176 Compressor and into my Scarlett 18i20 Interface. The DAW I'm using is Logic X but I also have Ableton. I have a ton of plugins that I love to use.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: I am really inspired by Jon Bellion, Herobust, and Illmind. I really love the work they're doing and how they are so true to themselves when they write music.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: The most common type of work I do for clients is mixing and mastering. I always communicate with the client to understand their vision.
