Interview with NomaD JoE

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Currently in the lab with A1 Bentley on a special project to change the game.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: .N/A

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: The 3 ep's that i'm working on now. I believe they really showcase most of the styles and sounds that I bring to the table. It's different and I had a ton of fun making them.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I promise you WILL be back for more, as I will provide my best all around service I can provide.

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: I don't really have a "SPECIFIC" style. I literally just go with what the beat says. So my style I guess you can say is a Universal Remote Style. Just pair me up and I'll do the job how it need be done.

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: Eminem, Andre 3000, B.o.B., Kanye, Taylor Swift, Katie Perry, Meghan Trainer, Pink, Gwen Stefani, Ariana Grande, Usher. Work with these guys to gain more experience and grow the delivery of my lyrics/composition.

  13. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  14. A: Analog, sometimes it's in the minute details. Lol

  15. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  16. A: I genuinely love helping others be able to create music that helps their fans through tough times. With homicide and suicide rates at all time high, it always feels good to provide hope for a better tomorrow. Through music the artist I work with(including myself), we are out on the front line fighting this war of hate.

  17. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  18. A: Can I write a song to sound like someone that's already made it big. I tell em I can or we can find a new sound that can grow bigger than that person who's already made their mark.

  19. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  20. A: Some People think it's easy, some think it's too complicated to be this versatile. Honestly it probably is both depending on the individual. Music is natural to me, that doesn't mean easy. The ease of it comes with thousands of hours of practice. Which may be hard for some but, it's easy when you love what you're doing.

  21. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  22. A: What is your image? Do you know what sound you're going for? What are your absolute NO GO'S? What is your vocal range? Are you ok with stepping out of your comfort zone? Are you willing to do what's needed to make this a success? Do you want Fame or to entertain?

  23. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  24. A: Just be professional. Don't worry about judgement and leave insecurities and worries at the door, you can pick em up on your way out after our session.

  25. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  26. A: Computer, mic, cell phone, pen/pad, speaker system to really vibe out.

  27. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  28. A: I've been writing professionally for about 10 yrs now. My path is to the top, before music I was in Health insurance salesman.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Sometimes less is more. If you have a good hook or Melody, make sure you don't overcook the song trying to make more melodies or punchlines. Just keep it simple, you and your listeners will appreciate the turnout more likely.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Whatever is playing, mostly Rap,Pop Rock and R&B

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: My versatility

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Whatever it needs. Energy, Swag, Class, Darkness, Excitement, etc. I provide a well formulated message with those feelings/sounds to stick to and move the listeners.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I let the beat talk to me, and I just translate it's emotions to the rest of the world.
