As voice tuning hit the scene in the late 90s and early 00s, I studied the mathematics of Fourier analysis and understand the intricacies of pitch at a technical level. At the same time, I earned a bachelor's degree in vocal performance, kept an active role in a gospel performance group, and acted as vocal producer on hundreds of recordings.
