A: Dirt is good
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: decision making
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Knowledge of how a song feels in context to its instrumentation and lyrics and also knowing when the song is done.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a hybrid mix system, where I start the mix in Pro Tools HD. I am using an Antelope Orion[audio interface], then to a 500 series rack mount where I have outboard compressors and Eq's, routed into a SSL six mixer. From the SSL Bus compressor the audio goes through a Burl ADC B2 Bomber[converter] then to a RME ADI Pro-FS2 [converter/interface]. I am monitoring through a pair of Yamaha NS-10's, Dynaudio LYD48's, and a single Avantone mix cube. I also have synth keyboards and drum machines for production and many plugins to aid in enhancing audio.

A: The most common work I do is produce, mix and arrange songs for clients, as well as produce and edit podcast.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just get an experienced engineer. Not just someone who can use pro tools
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Relaxed and decisive, I like appropriate aggression in records and direct vocals. I like when songs ride on a high.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I just like good artist who care about what they do. I love music so Im not really chasing stars, just good artist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen to the song maybe 5-7 times first and understand what the artist is presenting then I identify the strong and weak points of the song and try to make the weak parts better. I reference other songs that are close in style so I can make sure the levels are accurate and then I begin to stem the audio through my mixer so I can level the song. I compress and eq as needed then I add the sweet stuff like reverb and harmonizers to make the records glue together sonically.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am inspired by great engineers Bruce Swedien, Dr. Dre, Tony Maserati, and great Producers like Quincy Jones.
