Interview with Paul Hauss
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I run a mixing tutorial blog on YouTube. Check it out at YouTube.com/paulhauss
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most of my clients can be listed in the Afrobeats, Dancehall, and Reggae genres.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I've constructed a perfectly well treated room. Therefore, I'm able to LISTEN. I'm using EVE Audio and Avantone Monitors, Universal Audio Interface and Plugins and a lot more. My main DAWs are Logic X and FL Studio.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: To be able to listen
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'll bring an extra pair of ears to the project and I'll make sure that I follow and extend the path I was given by the client.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: To get it started, I'd need your song tracked out as 24 bit WAV or AIFF files, all starting at the exact same bar. When I've finished your mix, we'd chat again and might change some things up to your liking until you have a great sounding, radio ready record that sounds like YOU.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Leslie Brathwaite, Jaycen Joshua
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'll make your song shine and sound fantastic without changing your vision and vibe of the song. Therefore I'd love to hear your rough mix and discuss your vision in detail.
