  8. Review by Brenton Weyi

Uros was awesome! He jumped on my project right away and worked until very late in the night to get it right. Even more wonderfully, he incorporated feedback directly and without complaint. Some freelancers try to give you a hard time or make you feel like your feedback is silly, but Uros was committed to getting it just right. His work was expedient and his communication fast. The final track that he worked on was beautifully mixed and mastered and he made the song shine much more than someone else I had previously hired. I would highly recommend him!

Interview with Uros Sibinovic

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I did mixing and mastering work for the musical "My Country, My Country" which is a multi-genre musical that centres around the nexus point of Congolese independence. I'm really proud to have been a part of bringing this amazing and inspiring story to life.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I will work until you're happy with the finished results.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: I ask if they have a deadline for the project and if they have any references for the mix/master.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Compare mixes and talk to people about your songs before deciding who you are going to work with.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I worked on all kinds of different genres, but I mainly focus on rock, indie/alternative rock, metal, pop and singer-songwriter.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: Usually I'll start by talking to the client about the sound and the emotion of the song that they're looking. After that I listen to the song a couple of times to try and get an idea of how the finish product will sound, what the main focus of the song should be and if any vocals or instruments need to be corrected. After that I'm just trying to get the sound out of my head and into the song.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: Jonathan Wilson, Steve Albini, Kurt Ballou, James Murphy, Kevin Shields

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: Mainly mixing and mastering.
