Sound experimentalist/Producer

Balestena on SoundBetter

My goal in music is to discover new, unprecedented sounds, wether it's patching a wavetable synthesizer or processing field-recordings. With a saturated market of sound packs promising the kick drum sample or Serum patch that will bring you success, I believe that originality in sound design is often overlooked.

In my productions, I go a long way to offer sound design and creative processing in accordance to the personality and needs of your track. I've worked in a lot of different projects, from pop/electronic tunes that needed bright, in-your-face synths, to more experimental/dance tracks that required intricate audio processing and resampling. I use Ableton Live 10 and 9.7, own several sound libraries and use popular software instruments like Serum, Massive, Kontakt and several others.

  1. Review by Charlie Bello

Working with Mariano is always an amazing experience. As a producer he grabs my musical ideas from scratch to develop high quality, great sounding tracks. He is talented in choosing the right sound for my songs and has a great sense for arranging and mixing. Mariano is my producer and friend along the creative process. Totally recommend to work with him!

  1. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  2. A: laptop, ableton push, hand recorder and an elektron box

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  4. A: Producers and engineers that search their sound via unorthodox methods instead of following the conventions of what's allowed and what's wrong.

  5. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  6. A: I frequently work re-arranging tracks that my clients send me, adding instruments and doing creative mixing and sound design. Depending on the client's skills and budget, I may be involved from the early composition stages or chime in directly for the mixing process.
