No matter what music I am prompted to create, be it Jazz, Pop, R&B, Blues, Funk, Hip-Hop, and Country. With over 35 years of digital music and instrumental production, I can and have created almost any type of music needed form sound design, film scores to concert performance mixes along with an extensive music library that I continue to expand.

My role as a Music Producer, Sound Designer, Composer, Arranger, Performing Musician, and FOH, live sound mixer, (with my own studio since 1981) In which I have produced over 50 artists ranging form Country to Hip-hop, I have also produced sound designs for a robotic ice cream machine "Discovery Ice Cream" that is now in production, also commercial jingles, theme song for a pilot children TV show, produced music for local plays, and currently producing soundtracks for an up coming documentary about the inventor of the Basketball game (call "Ball of Confusion" (directed by actor Cylk Cozart, played in the movie "White Men Can't Jump") in which I produce a remix of the original Temptation song "Ball of Confusion". Several of my artists are currently or have been aired on several internet radio station along with traditional radio broadcast stations and, featured on local TV stations and featured in E-Magazines. And having a song I co-produced, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered aired on the University of Tennessee in Knoxville Tennessee college radio station to be one of the most requested songs for six consecutive weeks and was included in U.S Embassy, library of world peace songs the song titled ("One" A Cry For World Peace). To date, the music of the artist I have produced or co-produced has accumulated over 1,000,000 listens on Reverbnation.

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  2. A: Quincy Jones, Miles Davis, Mozart, Beethoven, Maurice White I loved the old jazz classics and music from the 70's and hip-hop. I love all types of music because I look at the art of what they are doing and the dedication it takes to achieve what the artist is expressing.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: I co-produced a world peace song with two artist Meg and Dredd titled "One" and was featured on University of Tennessee college radio station and was one of the most requested songs for six consecutive weeks. I performed most of the music based on what they had in their head, recorded, mixed and mastered the song and did a vocal track on it. And now it is one of the world peace songs included in the U.S. Embesay

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: Music for a documentary about the inventor of basketball titled "Ball of Confusion" filmed and directed by Cylk Cozart ( basketball pro turned movie actor, "White Men Can't Jump")I did a remake of the song and several of my artist's projects.

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: Not at this moment, just found out about this myself but will and have recommended it to other producers I know already.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Both, analog because of the warm sound it has and I have played trumpet in a band since I was 15 and still playing with Nate Evans and Temptations Revue. Digital because it allows me to get my ideas down when I don't have access to live instruments and the software allows me to do the whole deal and the ease of editing and manipulating your tracks.

  14. A: Seeing my customer smile and sometimes cry when they are able to fulfill their dreams in music.

  15. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  16. A: Where did you record that at and who are the musicians. I did it all here in my home studio and I performed, recorded, mixed and master it.

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: I have minimal equipment that the big board some expect, but when they here my mixes and music they are surprised that I did it all in one place and I played all the music.

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: If you are looking for a producer that gives their all and more because they love what they do and the satisfaction it gives their customers when it is just what they imagined and sometimes more than they expected, then The MXaker is the producer you desire.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: My trumpet, a drum set, bass, baby grand piano and an acoustic guitar

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: To be able to create good music that brings good vibes to the listeners and to have my own production and publishing company. I have been producing music for over 35 yrs.

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: Creative and original

  29. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  30. A: Fantasia, Bruno Mars, Peabo Bryson, Jhony Ghill, Charlie Willison, The O Jays. Because I feel I can bring that feeling back that is missing in today's mainstream music and the artist is able to deliver.

  31. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  32. A: Being able to produce multiple styles of music thus "The MXaker"

  33. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  34. A: I have a simple set up but produce a big sound. I use Reasons latest version, M Audio keystation49es, and Focusrite Scarlett solo USB audio interface with an AKG microphone for vocals.

  35. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  36. A: I consider music production one big picture from recording to mastering it is all one big production that has to be felt,

  37. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  38. A: R&B, Blues, Country, Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop, Rap, World, and Folk. I also have a style I created called J-Hop

  39. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  40. A: Production, power, and space to for the artist to sore, I try to build the song around the artist vocal style and personality.

  41. Q: What's your typical work process?

  42. A: It differs according to the project I am doing but no matter what the project I put my all and try to give more than expected.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Create music, record vocals, give artists pointers on how to better deliver what they are trying to express, edit tracks, do horn arrangements. And provide a productive and positive musical environment.
