Hello! My name is Robert and I am a Singer/Songwriter out of Dallas, TX. I specialize in song structuring/composition and topline. Although I am versatile, I tend to accell more so in rock, metal, punk, and pop.
Full written instrumental track or song co-write: we will have a conversation via message, email, or phone call through skype to discuss what exactly you are looking for. We can go over your own music for influence, or you can show me examples of other artists/bands whose sound heavily influences your project. I can pretty much adapt to anything. My average price for a full length write is $200. This includes a basic mix of song, along with all instrument tabs/chords, and stems. If you want your track mixed/mastered, I can refer you to one on of my many contacts. Chances are I have someone specifically suited for your project.
Sing on your track: My base price will vary depending on whether or not the lyrics and/or melodies are already pre-written, and the overall vocal requirement/length of the song. I will offer a discount if the vocals are for a track that I wrote or co-wrote with you. I will record 3-4 main vocal layers, along with 2-3 harmony layers.
Vocal melodies for your track: I typically do these for $100 a song, but like anything, that varies depending on the requirement. I will offer you something memorable and catchy that suits the atmosphere your song provides, and also do harmonies. If lyrics are not written I will record various na-nas, oos, and ahs for the melody.
Send me a message and let's get to work!
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Robert Matlock
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I've always been extremely fascinated by the band Linkin Park. The band has always been extremely flexible and creative when it comes to their music, and they've never been afraid of taking chances. My general style of songwriting is heavily influenced by their work, and I'd love nothing more than to get in a room with those guys and write a record.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: There are no rules
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I specialize in rock and metal music but I've written and recorded my voice on various pop, trap, rap, and punk songs as well.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I just finished wrapping up a song with a producer, the song is for a band that is fronted by one of my best friends, and we are very pleased with it. I worked extensively on the vocals, handling most of the topline melodies and aiding with lyrics.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on 2 different personal projects, both of which I sing and write all of the music for. 1 is an alternative metal band that influences from bands like Linkin Park and Breaking Benjamin. The other is pop rock band in the style similar to Twenty One Pilots, Imagine Dragons, and One Republic.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I currently work with a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 interface that produces sound through 2 JBL LSR305 monitors. For vocals I record in a treated vocal booth. I use 2 different microphones to record, the Audio Technica AT4040 and a Shure Sm7b, being ran into a Focusrite ISA Two preamp.
