That's because her versatile style was honed doing demos and background work for marquee names such as Celine Dion, Nas, Natasha Bedingfield, Kelly Clarkson, Brandy, and Keri Hilson, Jessica Simpson, Cheryl Cole to name a few. Rae was the first artist signed to Ne-Yo's Compound University label, and released some material through an association with major-label Columbia. In 2012, her record "Same Ol' BS" appeared on the soundtrack for Think Like a Man, followed later that year with the Wale collaboration on her single "Better Be Good," which gained some traction on Billboard's R&B Airplay chart.
