My name is Ilnaz Tarkhanov, and I am the founder and owner of sound recording studio and record label 116records.studio. I am a sound producer, mixing and mastering engineer.
For over more than 10 years I have been engaged into music composition and audio production, releasing tracks under the stage name “Cramp” on such record labels like Anjunabeats, Armada Music. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: laptop, 4G modem, apollo twin, virus ti, Beyerdynamic 990 pro headphones
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: i'm producing music over than 10 years, had some gigs with big names (i.e. Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Burren, Dash Berlin and etc.)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: drama, happiness, dreaming
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Katy Perry :) i love the sound and energy of the songs
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: be careful with EQ and compressors, do not kill the sound with overdosed values of the compression and limitation
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: house, dance music
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: i'm stressful and workaholic person, i'm straightforward and if i do not like something in terms of your mix or song i will tell you truth.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: In terms of sound production I bring new arrangement, re-writing sounds with hardware synths if needed, decompose the track framework
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: when i'm mixing and do request all required audio parts which a properly recorded and labeled. Then I review the raw mix and give a first try to get a mix, if i feel something needs to be re-written or fixed I do inform my client about it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I do have a little home studio in my house which is basically enough for the services I'm providing. The comfortable environment make the music production and mixing process more efficient and fascinating. My main DAW for music production is Logic X, but now I have switched to Ableton cause it improves my music production workflow. I'm using Pro Tools for mixing purposes including stem mastering.

A: Mainly I'm asked for sound production improvement or ghost production.
