Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I am currently collaborating with composers who are writing new pieces for me, recording my solo accordion album, and working on a few other recording projects.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: What I like most is being a concrete part of the final tracks and recordings, helping to bring a newly composed piece of music to life.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: My main question is about the timeline and the final deadline for the project. I also ask for the complete score.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Look for technical reliability. I guarantee a precisely executed performance. If any part of your score is physically unplayable or poorly written for the accordion, I will communicate it and work with you on adjustments, rather than just skipping it or improvising.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring strict precision to the written score and a deep focus on the overall sound to achieve the exact effect the composer intended.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My process begins with a thorough analysis of the complete score to understand the work's core concept and structure. I identify the critical elements and determine exactly where and how the accordion part fits into the whole picture. Once the interpretation is fully prepared and practiced, I record precision tracks in my studio.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I use a high-quality, mobile recording setup designed specifically for capturing pristine acoustic instruments. My chain consists of a Neumann TLM 102 and a matched pair of Rode NT5 microphones, captured through a Zoom H5 high-resolution recorder. This setup allows me to record clean, transparent, and uncolored audio with strict adherence to the natural dynamics of the concert accordion.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: The most common work involves recording complete, complex contemporary scores for classical composers, as well as tracking custom acoustic layers, avant-garde textures and extended techniques for film soundtracks.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I graduated with honors from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, earning a Master’s degree in concert accordion under Prof. Janne Rättyä. Over the last several years, my path has focused on collaborating directly with contemporary composers and premier new music ensembles, which provided me with extensive studio recording experience for complex 21st-century scores and cinematic tracks.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Classical contemporary music.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: Quality. I prepare for every project to the fullest. My focus is entirely on the composition I am working on at that moment. That is why I only take on new projects after I have finished the current one.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill is advanced sight-reading and fast learning of complex sheet music.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I do not follow specific artists. My focus is on 21st-century music, exploring complex acoustic textures, extended instrument techniques, and contemporary avant-garde composition.
