Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I had the chance to work with Teddy Riley and Blackstreet in his VA beach studio. It was the highlight of my career so because Teddy was so impressed with my work that he offered me the opportunity to work with him on a Michael Jackson project! Unfortunately the album never was finished but the just the fact that it happened i am still greatly humbled.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Right now im working on my compilation album titled Duke Williams Presents...The DW Effect to be released on my label 321 Entertainment. The first two singles "How It Go" and "Relax-Let It Go" are on all digital music outlets now! As well as writing for other artist also.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: i was raised on analog so im an analog head. Although digital is the preferred medium in which we operate in todays industry so to me its a mixture of both. Get analog signal in and edit and mix in the box.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I don't like to make promises, but i can guarantee quality and attention to my clients project because it means alot to them.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Freedom to create and get paid to do so.

A: How much for your services? Depends on what you need and the project.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it can be done very quickly. Art takes time, and i dont put my name of something im not proud of or satisfied with. But i do work in a timely manner.

A: What do you want to achieve with the project of song? Who are your influences? What type of reference would like me to A/B with?

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started in my hometown of Detroit, MI as a teen in church with Marvin Winans as my pastor and musical mentor. From there i studied music business and engineering at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, from there i got a group signed to Sony through Stonecreek Recordings (Boyz II Men). The rest is history since moving to Atlanta. Been in the business for 23 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is somewhat of a balladeer but i love doing great mid-tempos with a catchy hook melody.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Brandy - Her vocal prowess alone just does it for me. Always a fan and came close one time to making that happen.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always start with a great melody, then build the rest of the track/composition around that.

A: I usually start with melody on piano or keys, then work out drums and other elements, write the lyric and melody, record, mix then master!
