Testimonials from recent clients:
"This was another dream interaction. It's rare to have someone be so personable and engage with you on a musical level, but this was that situation. The violin parts were beautifully performed and recorded pristinely. And Nathaniel even added an additional part just because he thought would help the composition, which it totally did. 10/10"
"Nathaniel is very friendly, professional and has a talent not many do as he has taken my song to levels I could not have previously imagined or wished more for. It is a *pure* joy to listen to the ethereal sounds he has created, also a very pleasant chap. I look forward to working with him again!"
"Our project includes artists from many parts of the world. When we heard what Nathaniel's violin and viola music added to our piece, it was pure magic. Thank you for your exquisite work and world-class musicianship. We are thrilled that you are a part of this truly unique and timeless effort. Bravo!"
"A killer player, a great attitude, great communication, delivers quickly, and if you are looking for more than that then I don't know what to tell you! I'll definitely be working with him again"

A brilliant production and a top client! I can't wait to finish this project and more!
Nathaniel added violin-layers to our song "Walking" and we got what we wanted: a nice warm landscape of strings. He´s reliable and fast-working and easy to work with.
It was (and is) a pleasure to work with Nathaniel. He played violin on our song Paradise and did a remarkable job on the second half of the song (I´d say 6 stars out of 5) and the first half was a solid 4 out of 5 (but it´s still work in progress, so we´ll probably end up on a top score). Just as important are the communication skills and being able to deliver on time, and Nathaniel is very reliable in both of those areas. Highly Recommended!
I've worked with Nathaniel a few times now and wanted to add a little further to my other review, his composition skills/quality of work are above and beyond and I highly recommend you work with him!
Interview with Nathaniel Wolkstein
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I composed a film score which was selected to be apart of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. I also have composed original scores for planetariums, science museums and more. I love making music for podcasts, radio, songs and more as well!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will be 100% happy and excited by what I come up with. I've worked with over 100 clients in studio and remotely, and I've never had anyone underwhelmed or not overtly excited about my work.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I would say listen to my samples, and you'll see that I'm incredibly well rounded and at the level where I can fit into any project and only enhance it, not take away from it!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have played with professional orchestras for about 14 years and have a plethora of experience performing in large and small ensembles, both in orchestral settings as well as rock band settings (I play the guitar, bass, drums and more as well!)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Since I'm a classically trained violinist and musician of more than 15 years, I've been exposed to nearly all kinds of music and have a fluency and understanding that enables me to be the perfect working partner on any genre including pop, rock, jazz, folk, classical, cinematic, hip hop, rap and more!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening. Finding out exactly what my clients want from me, and then delivering that better than they could ever imagine.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My violin is made by Thomas Oliver Croen, a three-time gold medal winner of the International Violin Society of America annual competition. My beautiful instrument is valued at over $25,000 and has a rich, dark brilliance which lends itself to all kinds of music styles and projects. To record my instrument, I use preamps such as the Neve 1073, Studer 800 and the LA-2A. I use an AKG C414 mic to perfectly capture the brilliance, clarity and warmth of all my instruments.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The first thing I do with all clients is to listen. I like to listen and hear about exactly what YOU are trying to get out of your project, and what you would like out of our collaboration. I have 15 years of classical training and professional orchestral experience, so I have spent a great deal of time learning to listen, mold myself, and help others sound and be their best. Most of the time I am recording lush strings parts, along with solo string parts to really create a sonic experience of an orchestra.
