The most comfortable recording studio. On a private property, over a hip roofed barn we are able to create a unique ambiance and character that comes through in our recordings. The first step with a good recording is a good performance, and you get that by being comfortable. ....You can also pet our horses.
At Waking Life Studios, we have incorporated the best of the modern day as well as the things we love about the past in our hybrid studio set up. We record through high quality analog preamps like our BAE 1073, UA Solo 610 and SSL XLogic4-VHD Pre just to name a few. We also are capable of mixing on an analog desk or in-the-box but either way we still use sweetening from our analog compressors, delays and reverbs.
Recording and Mixing bands and singer songwriters is our specialty. We have a large repertoire of punk, metal and hard rock bands as well as some bluegrass, folk, and country artists. We can record live-off-the-floor or multi-track, which ever is most comfortable to you and all depends on your goals for the final product.
We also have mastering services. This is where our beauty the Universal Audio 2192 Converter adds it's flavor.
We are not a studio for you if you are looking for clean and precision. We appreciate the "colour" our analog gear imparts on the sound as well as the creativity in recording real instruments. We do not use midi instruments and will not edit your music to perfectly in time, that's just not how we feel about music.
