She's a Go GIver: The Law of Value: Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.
Karina is an amazing and talented artist! She helped me craft an incredible record with her performance and lyrics. I highly recommend her for any project you need work on. She is very professional and punctual. I look forward to working with her again!
With almost 10yrs in the industry, Karina is by far one of the most talented and versatile artist/engineers i've worked with. When it comes to songwriting, her ability to tap into the essence of the music with her words is unmatched. As an engineer, i've witnessed her bring many artists visions to life, as well as enhancing them with her own artistic slant. She is very personable and a pleasure to work with. Love working with her every time!

Interview with Karina Flonnoy
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I take the vision you have for your track and not only bring your idea to life but will enhance it. I'm a big vocal comp advocate so during recording if I feel you could perform a stronger take I will suggest that you do so. If I'm rapping or singing I will bring the emotion and the character appropriate for the track we're working on.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Recording: I work as quick as my client is willing to go. I believe in a quick but efficient recording process. I am quick with shortcuts and will give feedback when necessary so we can get the best recording possible. Mixing: After considering any notes or reference mixes you've provided, I will playback the track a few times and find a vision for your track. Then I get to leveling and processing.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of two locations, Tooned Studios in Oakland, CA and my home setup. Tooned Studios is a full studio where I record my clients. We have a Nuemnann TLM 103 Mic, Avalon Vt737SP Channel Strip (Preamp/Comp), all the Waves plugins, and Antares plugins. If they want to be present during the mix I have my mixing sessions at Tooned. I usually mix at home on my laptop and use my Yamaha HS8 monitors and Audio Technica M50x's for reference.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm very inspired by production professionals Kuk Harrell (recording engineer/vocal producer for Rihanna, Jessie J, etc), Dave Pensado (engineering legend), Marcella Araica (mixing engineer) and OVO 40. Rihanna, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Missy Elliot, Rae Sremmend and Drake.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording, vocal production for rappers and Trap Soul R&B singers, mixing, and songwriting.
