Franki 'Romero' Correa, is a Cuban Mixing/Mastering Post-production audio engineer based in the heart of Miami Music Scene. Before he began his career as an Audio Engineer, he was an artist/producer collaborating with local artists in genres such as EDM, Lo-Fi Jazz, experimental Hip-Hop and Drum n Bass.

Franki enrolled himself in Miami International University of Arts and Design for Audio Production. Where he quickly realized that he had a talent for Engineering. Since 2013, Franki has Mixed a number of albums for local independent artist with success.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I can make that sound that you have in your head, become a reality. We are considered magicians for a reason. We can produce/craft an idea into a audible hit!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Everything, I love music, especially Audio Engineering. And when an artist goes on tour even better!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I can just hit one button and the track will be mixed, mastered, duplicated and played on the radio in an hour! It doesn't work that way, I charge TRIPLE for that. :)
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you are clear about what type of sound you are going for. Above all, don't be shy, we engineers are here to help you; walk you through if you will, on the path to perfecting your sound!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Ears(1), My NS10(2), McDSP ML400(3), My PC(4), ADL 700 preamp(5).
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 5+ Years. I started in 2013, before that I was an artist/producer collaborating with other local artist here in Miami. Producing EDM, Hip-Hop, Trance and Drum N Bass. I was also a Ghost Producer before becoming a full time Engineer.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Non-Disclosure Agreements(NDA) they kinda suck!. But pay very well. Aside from that, check my credits (@ my professional website) NDAs take up 85% of my hit quality work.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Several up and coming rap artist, defining their own unique sound.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Don't know, I am sure there are some great audio guys out there.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. Usually when I am working on my Professional Studio, I tend to lean towards Analog. When I am almost done then I go a bit digital for some fine tuning. When I am in my Home Studio, I am mostly Digital, with a bit of analog.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Pay attention to detail, and always keep it moving. NEVER stay focused on one small detail for too long, keep a rhythm with the song.
