Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love that each new project that comes across my desk or I write myself is a new opportunity to turn an idea into a full-blown piece of art. There is no feeling more rewarding than opening up a project file and getting in the zone, only to look up 6 hours later and realize you now have an amazing song that simply didn't exist when you got out of bed that morning!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Perfection. If you're not happy enough with it, I'm not happy enough with it either! And if this is the case, we'll figure it out together until you are completely satisfied.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I love this question because it honestly varies from song to song! A piece of advice that has stuck with me over the years was quite simply "before you do ANYTHING to a track, sit back and listen. Really listen, and analyze what the track needs to get to the next level." I use this approach every time I sit down with a new song, and it's taught me how to step back and flesh out musical ideas not only intentionally but strategically.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most commonly I get requests to mix/master a single, EP, or Album. I love how this gives me the chance to work with musicians in all genres — I've gotten the chance to work on everything from EDM to Folk! I love the challenge of working with artists across a variety of genres, it keeps things fresh & exciting.
