Interview with Two Cat Audio Labs
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Our style has often been described using the word "natural" by our clients. Our goal is to be true to the content and material you provide us. When we mix and master we are trying to take the vision of the artist and create an open and spacious natural sound. We don't try to add all kinds of wiz-bang effects unless the artist wants to go in that direction.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: We often work on singer songwriter, rock, country, alternative, EDM, and even choral music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depending on the services we are providing the work process consists on a client interview, either by email or phone to get a direction on the project, finding commercial reference material, doing any necessary editing of the source material, mixing/mastering/remixing, and then providing the output to the client for review. In some cases additional revisions are necessary to meet the clients needs. During the entire process Two Cat Audio works through a set of checklists and guidelines to make sure we provide consistent and quality results to our clients.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Two Cat Audio Labs works entirely in the box but our output monitoring chain consists of high quality Antelope Audio mastering grade converters and Adam monitors.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically we do mixing, mastering, and remixes. In some cases we provide also provide stems.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: We love getting to work with new artists and their music. It's great to get to spend time exploring and improving a song for someone.
