Leonardo

R&B / Pop / Soul Singer

Leonardo on SoundBetter

While my influences are classic R&B and emotional Pop, what I create is entirely original — I call it Operatic R&B™️ — an emotional, cinematic fusion born from my own voice. Operatic R&B™️ blends the emotional storytelling of soul music with the dramatic vocal range of opera. It’s genre-breaking music built for vulnerability.

I offer full original songwriting services in the style of Operatic R&B™️, including:

• Original lyrics and melody composition

• Full topline writing

• Vocal demo with harmonies

• Basic piano accompaniment to guide production

• Custom writing for your unique voice, story, or project

Perfect for artists building their catalog, producers seeking topline, and sync clients needing strong emotional content.

All songs are original and tailored for your needs. Publishing splits, licensing, or full buyouts can be discussed based on your project.

Interview with Leonardo

  1. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  2. A: I’d love to work with David Foster and Babyface. These two iconic producers shaped the sound of my upbringing — their music got me through some of my most difficult moments. I’d love to see what they could do with my Operatic R&B™ genre. They each have a gift for drawing out emotional grandeur in totally different ways, and I think the fusion of their classic sensibilities with my sound would create something both timeless and unprecedented.

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: My #1 production tip is radical but essential: don’t record any artist who hasn’t put in the work to become a competent singer. No amount of mixing, tuning, or effects can substitute for a voice that hasn’t been trained to carry emotion, pitch, and presence. If the raw performance isn’t there, the production will always be patchwork — and patchwork never moves people.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: I work mostly in emotionally-driven styles — especially R&B, cinematic pop, and my own genre, Operatic R&B™️. It’s a blend of soul, drama, and melody that leans into storytelling and vocal expression.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: My strongest skill is writing melodies that feel like they were written for a powerful voice. As a vocalist myself, I understand how a song needs to move — emotionally and physically — so I write lines that sing beautifully and feel good to perform.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I bring emotional truth. My melodies carry weight, and my lyrics aim straight for the heart. I don’t write filler — I write moments that feel. With my unique genre, Operatic R&B™️, I blend cinematic vocals with raw R&B soul, creating something you haven’t heard before but instantly recognize as honest.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: I start by learning what emotional impact the client wants — heartbreak, intimacy, longing, hope, etc. From there, I craft the lyrics and melody as one organic piece, often letting the lyrics inspire the melody. I record a rough demo with vocals and basic piano accompaniment, and revise based on feedback. Everything I write is guided by feeling — I make sure the final result moves you.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: I record using BandLab as my DAW, with an Audio-Technica condenser mic, Audio-Technica closed-back headphones, and a Scarlett 2i2 interface. My setup is simple but clean, allowing me to focus on what matters most — raw vocal expression, strong melodic writing, and emotional storytelling. I prioritize clarity, performance, and vibe over flashy gear.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: I’m inspired by artists who create emotional worlds with their voices — like Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Justin Bieber. Vocally, I’m pulled toward purity, power, and depth — which is why my original work leans into a cinematic blend I call Operatic R&B™️. You could call me an R&B Divo. I don’t follow formulas — I follow feeling.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: I write original songs from scratch — lyrics and melodies — rooted in emotional storytelling. Clients usually come to me for deeply romantic or soul-baring songs that evoke vulnerability and cinematic feeling. My vocal style blends the depth of soul with the drama of opera, a genre I call Operatic R&B™️. Most often, I’m hired to write love songs, interpretive ballads, or vocal-led pieces where emotional delivery is key.
