This was the second project I have worked on with Claud, as his enthusiasm for my music made me think he could help me develop a song I was a little bit stuck on. Claud very kindly played quite a few variations for me and again was on hand to listen to my song and offer ideas that were above the piano I asked him to do for me. Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Improvisation, playing by ear, arranging
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in my own recording studio which is equiped with all the recording facilities that I would need to provide a professional recording. I play an 88 keys MIDI controller which I use extensively with Logic Pro and a large variety of virtual instruments.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Being classically trained I have a broad musical and technical background. I have developed playing by ear from a very early age which had a huge advantage by learning songs much quicker, giving me more freedom and space for improvisation, inventiveness and creating my own interpretation, combining different styles of music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Before I start working and recording a song or a project, the planing of it its very important to me. I will try to communicate as many appropriate and related questions to understand what the musician(s) I am working with are striving for and make sure we are on the same page. Once that is established I am working around the deadline and I always present beforehand few examples and ideas that the song could develop into.
