John Roland Miller on SoundBetter

Professional quality Indie Rock, Dream pop, Electro Pop, DIY, Psych Rock, Shoegaze, Hip Hop, House and mixes tailored specifically to client's needs. Speedy turnaround. Affordable and flexible rates.

I studied music production and engineering at Berklee College of Music where I got a Bachelor's of the Arts in the subject. Since graduating in 2017, I have been in Brooklyn, NY producing, engineering and mixing records in a wide variety of genres. I have experience mixing singles, EP's, and LP's.

As a mixer, my goals are to maintain, clarify and amplify the original vibe of the production and to be adaptable to fit any client's mixing needs. When working remotely, I like to send mixes to clients at several different stages to make sure we’re all heading in the same stylistic direction. I am also available to do virtual mixing sessions via Audiomovers for no extra fee.

My main mixing set up is in a treated room in my Brooklyn home studio. I mainly use Yamaha HS8s with a subwoofer that are fed through Apogee converters. I have access to many pieces of classic analog processing gear such as a UA 1176ln, API and SSL EQs, and many other excellent pieces of outboard gear, and a pair of Yamaha NS10s which I use for mixing vocals. In addition to this classic analog gear, I also have an expansive library of audio plug-ins by iZotope, FabFilter, Slate Digital, Waves, Soundtoys, Valhalla, and more.

My mixing set-up is hybrid, modern, and versatile, and my mixing style is adaptable - perfect for any artist or band looking to blend old-school and modern sound design concepts.
