Rewarded acoustic guitar player, innovative composer and producing nerd. Take your music to the next level with fresh, innovative and unexpected guitar tracks or stunning music arrangement tricks, as well as super clear and detailed mixes!
I'm Marco Ielpo, professional musician, working as a freelance for years. I can help you improving your music in different ways, both as a guitarist and as a composer/arranger/producer:
• I'm specialized in acoustic guitar, and my guitar tracks sound unexpected, modern, fresh and extremely charming, due to the different techniques and harmony tricks I can use on my guitar. Though with the acoustic guitar I'm in my comfort zone, I can record charming electric and classical guitar tracks as well.
• I can compose an instrumental track for you in the style you ask me for, or can add some stunning arrangement tricks to your song, to take that to the next level.
• I can make clear and detailed mixes for your songs, to bring to life every single noticeable nuance! I work on a daily basis on different music styles and can mix almost anything! I also can provide mastering services.

Super quick production, and quality sound. Marco is easy to work with, flexible, fast to respond, and patient when I was not fast to respond 😅.

This was my first time having a film scored and Marco was such a breath of fresh air, making my experience easy under stressful time constraints. He has a great ear for what fits and applies feedback well. He's timely and professional, and he provides quality work. My project was a comedy, which is not always easy to score, so I was very pleased with his work.

Interview with Marco Ielpo
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mac Tire is offering sound design, compositions and session guitar/bass services here on SoundBetter! Check him out, he's super creative in sound design and has a unique style of playing guitar and bass. Here's the link to his profile: https://soundbetter.com/profiles/218179-mac-tire
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of the most interesting recent works is the composition of the music for a videogame. I composed a lot of music for that project and it was really challenging, but super funny!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Based on my current setup, digital! Analog is definitely more fascinating, good analog stuff is expensive. I prefer smarter solutions and now the digital reaches really high levels!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The recording/editing process. I really like that.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: They usually ask me what kind of guitar tracks I can record. The answer is: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, classical guitar. No music genres limits!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I don't only put the jack in my guitar and record. I spend time on my customer's request, studying the best solution for his project, then record the guitar track and then edit the tracks to improve their sound. So, even a few seconds recording, can take some hours of work.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always ask for references, to figure out what the client is looking for.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't hire the fist provider you find in the search results. Take a look to some profiles and find out the best provider for your needs.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this for about 6 years.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jacob Collier, because he's mind-blowing.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't be predictable.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Acoustic, Rock, Pop
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Playing guitar and arranging songs!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on 2 different music releases for my personal projects. Then, I just finished to make the music for a videogame, it was funny.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You'll love what you'll get, I promise that.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Acoustic guitar, macbook with all my stuff on, audio interface, jack cable, hard disk. That's all the essential stuff I need to work.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Polyhedric.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Groove, appeal and feeling.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I ask for references to get an idea of what my customer is looking for, I study the references and find a way to make something original and super-modern starting by that. I love music harmony, so I often use harmony tricks to create unusual chords progressions.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work on both Logic Pro X and Studio One. I mainly use a Breedlove acoustic guitar (amazing instrument) and a PRS electric guitar. For the composition works, I use a professional sound library used by the greatest composers in the world.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I recently discovered Billie Eilish that really blows my mind out with that kind of music production. Then, I find inspiring Tal Wilkenfeld, Petteri Sariola, Joni Mitchell and so many others.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually do guitar recording and composition works.
