From my perspective, development is more important than a 'one-time' quality upgrade. If you're like me, help on projects is great -- but I need to know WHERE and HOW I can improve on the next attempt.

I am a Certified Audio Engineer, and writer of the chapter "A DJ's Perspective" in Rick Snoman's "The Dance Music Manual (4th Edition)." I'm also a Resident Ableton Trainer at, and own - a Top 3 company for trance sounds.

My own music has been featured on Beatport "Staff Picks," as well as multiple Top 100 entries. Other publications that have supported my work include YourEDM, EDM Sauce, and ThisSongSlaps. DJ support has come from Armin van Buuren, Blasterjaxx, MarLo, John Askew, and many more.

Many of the artists I work with have outsourced mixing & mastering before, but have had difficulty finding out what was done to maximize the potential of their song. That's something I enjoy spending extra time on. Each mixdown or co-production project includes these details, as well as a Skype call to review. If you're an Ableton Live user, I'm happy to share my session file for you to learn from.

More often than not, a one hour call on a particular topic (like social media or mixing techniques) can be more helpful than a straightforward mastering job. If that would bring you the most growth, I'm happy to decline the engineering project & call attention to this.

Tom provided an interesting and helpful perspective on melody and breakdown writing and composition. He was able to provide me with tips specific to tracks I am currently working on, as well as general tips and tricks for the future. It is always great working with him, and sessions with him are always enjoyable!

Happy to discuss branding/marketing with Tom. Never really considered my brand or how I would market/develop my music before this session and it really put things into perspective. Great to have a strategy and looking forward to his feedback on what I come up with!

Always a pleasure working with Tom. He is a great help in keeping you focused on the important details when it comes to music production. He also is able to guide you towards what he believes to be the best sound, but is willing to hear you out and work with you to ensure you are happy with your work in the end. Will definitely continue to work with him in the future!

As this was my first experience with a professional engineer, Tom really walked me through all the steps in the process and did help me learn some new things and what is possible. He helped me with some production techniques I was struggling with and corrected them with me.

I gave him some background of my track and he was able to continue with my vision and provided a lot of great suggestions and ideas I didn't think of. I can't wait to work with him again!

Another great session with Tom! Worked with Tom on taking a few presets and getting them to a level on par with the reference track we were imitating. Very educational and fun working session where we went through different techniques and how to handle each sound/layer. Looking forward to working with him again soon!

Tom was amazing. From the start, he understood that I was on a total time crunch (with overseas travels within 10 days having to finish this complex Uplifting Vocal Trance track prior to it. Being new to the production/composition of Trance Music, and Ableton as it was the 1st song I was using it from start to end, having Tom's final project to break it down, see how he dealt with problems I was having, how he approached certain parts of the song, total game changer. Highly recommended.

Another enjoyable session working with Tom! Picked up some new techniques regarding layering/sound design, sample choice and where to look, and use of FX to fatten up and create unique sounds. Always great to work with him and hear his input/feedback. Looking forward to more sessions in the future.

Having gone through what a lot of beginner and intermediate producers go through, Tom knows exactly how to make your music better, as well as what to say to encourage you to stick with it and not give up. He honed in on where I am struggling and gave me numerous resources where I could continue to learn and improve even after our call ended. He was very professional, but down to earth and fun, so talking to him wasn't intimidating. Would definitely work with him again in the future!

Tom Rogers is a excellent dj. He has helped me with numerous projects in the past. His hard work and dedication is uncanny. He takes pride in what he does and he will only be an asset to whatever project he is out on. His music speaks for itself and his hard work and personality is just a bonus. Recommend Tom Rogers for any project because he will always deliver.

Tom Rogers is one of my most valued mentors and I look up to him artistically and professionally. Tom provided me with an array of services such as remote tutoring, technical advice, production assistance, and mastering on my original works at a reasonable price. It was obvious that he had a deep knowledge of engineering and a great ear for music. Whenever we scheduled meetings he was always very punctual and flexible. I can say without exaggeration that Tom helped me level up at a time when I needed to make progress and bolster my confidence as an artist. I give my highest recommendation.

A great introductory work, the Dance Music Manual is something a lot of early electronic artists use to orient themselves in the production world. Myself included.

I've been asked to write a chapter for the latest edition, titled "A DJ's Perspective." Here, I share my go-to tricks of the trade.
